If you didn't have Rosko Specman, Marnus Schoeman, Jack Maddocks, Tyrel Lomax or Akker van der Merwe in your team then you're in a bit of trouble. If you didn't have those guys and you picked Richie Mou'unga or Damian Willemse then you're in a lot of trouble. If you had Sio Tomkinson or Wharenui Hawera then you're in deep shit!

I can't find a good way to paste the various leaderboards without screwing up the formatting and I'm buggered if I'm going to type it all out but here are the top three in the Sportsdeck comp:

1. Sleeping Giants     377

2. Black Power          372

3. Hotsteppers          371

And here are the top three in the Rugby Magazine comp:

1. Black Power          508

2. Sleeping Giants     457

3. The Lightbringers  439

Well done to Klown and ABasque who are in the top 2 in both comps.

Super Rugby Fantasy leaderboard top 3:

1. Black Power           190

2. The Lightbringers   165

3. DbDraad's Elks       121.5

Thanks Redneck ... the first round is pretty much a thumbsuck ... now that we know a little more, we'll start to see the one with the better strategy emerge.

I made a mess of the Sportsdesk selections and will have to make some serious changes.   This particularly pertain to selections like Pocock, Willemse Rob Thompson and Matt Procter - selected based on last years form will have to go.

the first round is always very tricky,.... aim is not to lose too much distance with the head,... and from here, as CC said, to apply each one's strategy and see who's the best this season

I can see there are almost 40.000 players at SuperBru,.... wow, that's some people playing ,.... and without having any salary retsriction squads are very similar,.... this is going to be quite difficult

RM and Sportsdeck have 3.600 and 2.100 respectively,.... these are going to be nice to play

... so you're the defending champ. huh? Impressive stuff, ABasquefan ... seems you have a knack for this.

Well ... game on ... you certainly have set the bar pretty high.

Seems I need to get you drunk and talk a little Fantasy strategy with you.

What you doing Saturday??

Klown, I don't have to approve him. I think the teams show as inactive until you've picked the minimum 28 player squad.
PS Are his initials NL? If so I see him there and all he has to do to activate his team is to pick 28 players.

Full being 28 players, not just a starting XV and a bench.

Still showing inactive. Maybe it will only update his status after he picks his starting XV and bench? Ask him to try. He can always make changes up to the lock.

Top three is confusing. There are only 5 people in our pool and 2 did not make any picks. I'm actually dead last. I did not look at any stats and only picked players I liked. Funny how a significant portion of  my, Rooi and Basq's teams are the same. So we do actually agree on some things. I made a couple of sentimental pics that backfired, but I'm new to this.

This isn't my kinda thing, because I can't put enough time into it to do it properly. In the past, I started off picking a team and then lost interest or got too busy and I just stopped playing. Ill try and stick till the end...Super comp is a bit long, so I should probably have picked a different comp to start up with, but it's done and dusted now, so I'll try and tough it out till the end.

Draad, the Superbru game is also not the best FR game as there is no salary cap so everyone can pick all the big stars meaning teams become very similar. That's probably why there are so few players in our pool.
The games at Rugby Magazine and Sportsdeck are better and it's not too late to enter. You've only missed one round and you'll be in the same boat as a few others.

Rugby Magazine's version in my opinion reigns supreme.

Not only does it have a salary cap but one can grow your depth through careful selection and spending.

A squad of 28 players can become substantial by season's end.

It however requires time to analyze players properly and so Draad, not really being much of a rugby man, won't like this either. He should rather just stick to the SuperBru predictor types of online games.

That way he can attend to Moffie's needs a lot sooner.

Why are there so many pussies on this board?

I honestly think that Ed should have all new recruits answer a simple question before accepting their applications.

"Are you a pussy"?

Their membership to this site depends entirely on how they answer that question.

"I'll be called out as one of your gimps again, just for speaking to you."
Draad, you seem a bit confused . . . which is your usual state these days . . . but please note that no-one calls you a Servile Gimp just because you talk to Moffie.
Klown talks to Moffie, ou Maaik talks to Moffie and even I sometimes talk to Moffie and I reckon not even Baboon-ou is stupid enough to think that any one of us three is among the Servile Gimps.
We call you a Servile Gimp because of the speed and ferocity with which you ram your dirty little snout up Moffie's chocolate starfish whenever the opportunity presents itself.
I know it's hard for you but at least try to understand the distinction between just talking to someone and being a gushing, fawning and arse-licking sycophant.
Okay? Does that clear things up for you?

Draad all this is, is an attempt to drive a wedge between you and me. Peeper has a campaign against anybody who in any argument (not even most arguments) agrees with me rather than him. And look at all that vitriol. All the old images of the male poephol are dragged out again. You wonder why, here's the answer: 'Even the slightest of perceived losses to others can be a big deal to the sociopath. Just having somebody side with another person in a debate can prompt the sociopath to launch a campaign to claw back that victory, however small. The need to win can dominate their lives, and they will often not stop until victory is theirs.' ........I sense you are troubled by this, you really shouldn't be. The norm is the disagreements we have, one party (to your credit often you) modifies their position and there's a rapprochement. You have tried that with Peeper, but it doesn't work with sociopaths. It's not your problem.

Wow, what is that 16 or even 17 times now that you've used the word "sociopath" since I used it to describe DumbAss, Moffie? Despite having never used it even once in all the years before?
I'm guessing it struck some kind of a chord with you.
Tell me Moffie, have you got some examples of occasions when you have "modi fied your position" on this board?
Please don't have a "kanipshin" (sic) and respond too "vigorously" to this question, just put up one or two examples of where you've practiced what you're busy preaching to your little Gimp here. Thanks.

You think youngsters are the answer, I think experience wins the big tournaments....nothing wrong with having different views. Let's just bury the hatchet, it's becoming embarrassing for both of us.

It sure is interesting to see how differently people think.

A prop dominated the score last week ... and this week it seems he's tripped up ... offering those who signed him ... and have him in their run on side ... a big fat zero.

Some in search of doubling their points risked making him their captain. That's going to hurt.

Some have made as few a changes to last weeks side as they could ... while others took a risk and went all out, costing them a lot of valuable points.

Some even have a few players in their match 23 that aren't featuring at all this weekend. Can't really see that as tactical ... oops.

We sure are different ... this is going to be a very interesting competition.

Go Giantsssssssss!!!!
