Oi-Matey and Sasue

I have to congtaulate both of you for the fight that you put up this weekend.   My showing was very weak this week and I was easily beaten by both of you.   Having two players on the bench diid not help me at all - and I think I may get better next week - when I will have Slipper and O]Oconnor back on board.   My third transfer will be at loosie - but it depends entirely on the team selection for next week

Insofar as the Cup selections are concerned - I  am holding thumbs for you- Oi-matey.   With a huge amount of luck you may still crack it.   .It seems as if Sasue and myself are safely through to the next round - but Rooinek is also in a very tight situation.   Anyway I still hope that the four of us can survive to the next round in that competition.

@mikey,
thanks bro, am stoked i didnt stick with moore and even more stoked i made ged my captain, i had two players in the the crusaders game and they have so far earned me 150pts+.

i think both oimatey and rooinek are in good positions, they both have conrad on the bench who will be automatically substituted for kahui and thats plus 9 right there to go on top of their slight lead, but fingers crossed all the same.

last year i was eliminated from the cup in the third round, so im stoked to be able to progress, but the year before i made it all the way to round 6 before coming up against the No2 over all at the time and the prick used his wildcard on me that week, smashed me by 200pts if i remember correctly.

ive got some changes to make this week too, bringing in a real bolter for my looseforward as the cheetahs have a bye and will try to bring in genia too, and i want to replace kahui this week too, to unpredictable at the moment with his starting/not starting charade he keeps putting us through.

I have checked again and it is evident that Sasue and myself remains well clear of our opponents in the Cup competition.   Io-omatey is 12 points clear of his opponent and have 9 points to come from Conrad Smith as a result of Kahue and  is  really in with a good chance to beat him.   Rooinek is 6 points clear of his opponent and will get another 9 points because of Kahui not playing - so he seems to be  safe as well.

Hope the final points changes favour oi-matey and Rooinek.   If hey do - we will still have 4 players in the Cup competition and there will be nio change from the previous position.

The weakest point scorer in our league in Rouind 11 insofar as the top 3 positions are concerned was me  - so I really let our team down badly.  I had two bench players in the team and am not surprised about my poor results.  Hope to do better next week.

Ja, I'm hanging on by a fingernail for the second weekend in a row!

I suspect there's one more score update to come because I haven't been given the substitution points for Kahui yet, but I'm still 6 points clear of my opponent so I'm hoping!

Just checked the head-to-head league and I see Sasuke got his revenge and gave me a dik snotklap this week. Sasuke is more experienced than us in this comp and he was on to the high-scoring fatties right from the start. The front-rowers have quite a big advantage in this scoring system. Sasuke was also smart enough to make Ged Robinson his captain ahead of Stephen Moore this week knowing that he'd be making a lot more tackles. I suspect that was his thinking anyway. I'm learning the tricks of this comp!

Rooinek

I am very optimistic about the Cup competition after checking the scores again.  I am also not making much headway in the Test Rugby comeptiton although - despite the fact that I had two benched players - I did outscore Sasue by 300 points.   In the latter compeition I have 3 transfers left and will have to use two to replace Strauss and  Labuschagne.

There are at least two other players hat may not be selected by their reams this coming week - namely Serfontein and Cane - so I am still in hot water and may end  up again in that I have bench players in my squad..    Was lucky to get 100 points extra for scoring of three tries by members - but one of the try scorers - Labuschagne is out this week.

Will bring both Strauss and Labuschagne back next week - but then will have to replace Serfontein for sure and may have to look at Cane again.   Cannot play a player not regularly in the starting line-up.

I am still learning about the Foxsport league and will get some players on Board this week and next week to strenthen my selections considerably and avoid me ending up ain a situation where I will have two benched players in my srtarting line-up.   However, I will also have to start preparing for Round 18 and bring more Waratahs, Grumbies and Rebel players on Board - so that by that week I will have more or less a full tam from those three franchises on Board

Hope we all go through to the ext Round in the Cup competition and then get weakish opponents - despite the fact that there is only circa 4200 players left in the competition - there must still be some weaker cases left.   Good luck on that issue to all

Rooinek

I am really puzzled by the Foxsport scoring.   In the week score they gave you as having got 366 points - tiscared me stiff when I looked at your opponent and he was given 370 points.   However, in the schedules it was reflected that you got 388 points.   I then tallied up your individual scores manually  and it came to 388 points - not 366 as reflected in the top box.   I was initially scared stiff that you would be out of the Cup competition since the score given in th top box was not 388 - but 366.   I think you are home and dry - but have a look again at the situation.

It can be confusing sometimes. I've seen that page before when I've had three different round scores shown in three different places.

I'm hoping that 388 is the right number. On my own page it shows that I've beaten Manila Maulers 366-360 in the Cup and when I click on his name, his page shows that he lost to me 370-388 so either way it looks like I've squeaked into the next round of the Cup.

@mikey & rooinek,
the easiest way to deal with the foxsport points is just wait for it to say completed, everything is just a rough estimate as they continue to calculate the numbers and as u found, they can calculate in one page and not another.

and spot on rooy, frontrow forward are very good at accumlulating points. i mentioned this to mikey last week who was having dilemmas with his bench players and he had a transfer he was going to use to bring in genia. i made th suggestion that it would prob be better to use it on a prop, as they are bound to score more points etc, but at the end of the day, its still a gamble and genia didnt do too bad.

i also made a list last week of players that are a must ifor every team in foxsport,,,,
ben afeaki
james slipper
ged robinson
steven luatua
lappies labuschange
james oconner
charles piutau

if these players are playing, i believe they are a huge must.
last year james oconner and james slipper would have been on that list and the year before, james oconner would have been there too, he really is foxpsrts most consistent player.

Sasuke, the "latest points" screen currently says "complete" but my score is still incorrect. It says 366 at the top, 388 further down and it's still got the outdated scores for me and my Cup opponent (366-360).

Not sure if Ben Afeaki is a good idea while he's still crocked and I have Stephen Moore instead of Ged Robinson, but the other players on your list are all in my team.

I think it's safe to say that James O'Connor is not just a Fantasy Rugby phenomenon, he's a consistently brilliant and amazingly versatile rugby player. Probably the best player in the world right now.

Sasue

Congrats - you really did a magnificient job this week - Really top class selections.   I look at your list of players and agrees wholeheartedly.  However, my feeling is it is too late to crorrect my buggered up selections.  If Cane is not staring on Saturday I will end up with another short team.  The same applies to Serfontein - I may end up having to change him to get Brier and still sit with Conrad Smith - a bad egg.  And Ardie Savea is out of the Hurricanes tour party - what happnd to elder brother - the spouse beater?

I have some real clearing up to do over the next two weeks and at the same time bring in some Waratahs and Brumbies players that will be weak in some positions.  Also some from the Western Force and the Rebels.  That would weaken my position even further.

I think I will probably be out of the Cup competition this week too - unless some of the under-performers like Bekker suddenly strike gold.   The same applies to Lambie as well.   Will have a choice between Lambie and Anscombe at flyhalf and both have been dismal recently.   And I will still sit with Robertson this week as well - so the under-performer list is long and is even longer with Richard Kahui also missing and what not.

I have constantly exercised the wrong options and if I take the performing players - they suddenly seems to go down in performance.  maybe I put the muggers on them.

If I have a choice now I would keep all the players you mentioned and add to them the following:-

Lock   -    Wait for Etzebeth

Loosie  -   Schatz and  Botha

Flyhalf  - Leafitano

Center  -   Really a bad lot - all yo-yo players.

OB  - Ranger

I picked Etzebeth on potential and he is a hard worker - so is likely to get more points than the other yo-yo players.  That means I have to make seven changes and never seems to be able to make anything substantial - because of selections.   Hopefully I will be able to make three this weekend - but that leaves me still short of  players for the succeeding weekend - when the Bulls, Brumbies and Crusaders will have bye's.   For instance the Ranger change would be crucial since Mogg would not be playing and I will also have to cater for Afeaki and another loosie.   .

I have to get rid of Ardie Savea this week and hope Cane will play and perform well - if he is not playing I stuill will not have a full team for this coming weekend - since my priority changes are Brier and Slipper.  They are an absolute must this weekend.

Rooinek

The point allocation has been completed - but your tally still showed 366 points for the week - while the actual points allocated per player adds up to 388 points.   I would send them an e-mail requesting that the figure be corrected if I were you.

i would adpot a wait and see policy regarding ezebeteh when he does start his first game, but watching him play of the bench would be a godd indicator as to where hes at.
he was decent last year, but luatua who should be everyones incumbent & to a lesser extent bekker, whose hitting a sof tpatch, b ut has generally been a beast. reds simmons is i the same boat as bekker.

im thinking of bringing in pyle, as i look towards the june series and all aussie round, i would like to have my bench full of aussie players who are not going to be slected for the wallabies, that way i can play my wildcard staright afterwards.
tough to do though, cos im trying to stay competitive for the cup challenge, :o/
