With my recent luck anybody I choose will not be of value to any of you 0 you have them and they will have a bad day at the office. Last week I picked Higginbotham and Read as loosies and you know what happened to those two. In the absence of real locks I picked useless Jaws as well - and he went bad too.
I also made the fatal mistake of choosing Beale as well - and since I had no scrummie (I ran out of transfers) I ended up with a really poor score.
This week I was forced to make serious changes - so I went for two loosie changes and with a view to serious adjustment next week 0 I brought in the cheap Boshoff at flyhalf.
Where will things go sour today as far as my selections are concerned? The following are likely to take a tumble in points:-
* Ben Franks - coming up against the Bulls props he is going to suffer badly.
* Useless Jaws - I hope he does not repeat last week

Ben Franks is the inform scrumagger and prop of the super rugby, so if anything bulls props should struggle againgst an inform canes tight five, the canes forwards aint that much of a pushover as ppl seem to think, kruger aint some great shake too, average scrumager at best.

Franks earns his points in looser play (especially tackling) - he is not a good scrumming prop. Would not pick him as a prop other than in the case of fantasy selections.
He may be good against NZ props - but against the Stormers and the Sharks he was in reverse gear.

Sure i agree hes good in the loose, i was just making his point hes held his own so far. While you may be right againgst more adept scrumaggers he may not score as well, but thats not to say Franks well fold, canes tight five is getting better and better.

Clevermike: even if he is not as good as some players in the scrum (where I feel he holds his own anyway) we have to look at the total players contribution & the relative importance of that contribution to the team wining.
Scrums are just one aspect of the game. More ball is won and lost in the loose than in the scrum. Would you agree?

Rooi - I see you went with Fourie at Hooker in Foxsport and Testrugby. Me too. Had to think long and hard about that one but what kind of "coach" would I be if I didn't show a little faith in one of the most determined Super Rugby players to bounce back ?

@oimatey,
why dont u post ur teams up here bro, it would stop me from feeling like a facebook stalker every time i spy on ur teams, LMAO,
i see we both recruited mccalman into our foxsport teams and we both made him captain too.
i was wondering why u didnt sub out ged robinson though?
i left him in my team cos he scored pretty decent in his last two games from the bench and wished to use my transfers elsewhere.
so penny for ur thoughts,

Sas - sorry man. I should post, just Fridays are my busiest days at work. Besides - my swing has been off this year man ! need to get that fantasy rhythm back !
I had the exact same thought process with Ged. Been solid coming off the bench. Hopefully the Highlanders start rotating starts with him and Coltman. Have been wanting to bring in Mr Franks but didn't want to this week with the bye coming up next week and was actually trying to get a couple Chiefs in Messam and TKB for the Cheetahs matchup.

Oimatey, I recruited Deon Fourie in Foxsport mainly because he was being picked as a loose forward yet scoring the front row tackle bonus points. I'm not actually a fan of the little chap as a hooker but I've kept him in my squad in case the Hapless Stompies find a decent hooker and Fourie goes back to the back row.
I only kept him on in my Testrugby side because it would have been a waste of a transfer as I want to bring Bismarck back and he's on a bye this week.
Anyway, I hope he does better this week. He can't really do much worse . . . certainly as far as his lineout throwing was concerned!
