So at minute 72 with the score Oz 34/Bargies 26….the Bargies kick off and  don’t make 10 metres. Huge dumb mistake, they are still well in the game and could have probably forced a Bargie lineout inside the 10 metre line with a deep kickoff.

Next a scrum on halfway. The Bargies change some players, which they could easily have done before the kickoff…wasting time.

Then the first scrum. Oz now plays their role. They get a bit of a right wheel but the ref, perhaps wrongly, calls for them to ‘use it’. They go on  scrumming and their number 8 is bemused when they are penalized.

The Bargies get a lifeline….their scrum. Incredibly Oz fold and the Bargies now have a penalty from the halfway spot…..they should kick it out inside the 22 and go for the try. Nope they go for the penalty which from that range is at best 50/50…ie an expected value of 1.5 points. He misses.

Four minutes of sheer stupidity by both sides has now gone by…it’s minute 76.25 before the drop out takes place.

The Bargies play some nice rugby but they are terminally dumb both at a team and an individual level and after long exposure at the top it doesn’t seem to be improving.

They did well in the first half and led 19-10 and had better stats by far but fell to pieces in second half after scoring a converted try early.

They are a mystery...maybe I think they need strokes, ie play well initially but fade drastically and don't fight back when a few calls go against them. The ref was erratic and whistle happy and some of his calls were unsettling.

Yes there is huge talent there but Latin American players are only firing when their temperament is confident and soon lose heart when everything goes the wrong way...the French can be very similar and the Italians.

Having said that the Wallabies certainly missed Michael Hooper.

Argies have the best depth of backline players in the RC. Maybe best depth overall period. They usually play well against Australia, usually the best rugby if the RC is played between these two. The game was a hell of a lot better than the bullshit dished up by the Blocks.

Actually after watching the intensity of the Boks/AB game the Convicts vs Bargies game looked like a schoolboy outing.
