 I think England have an outside chance of reaching the Semi-finals if they play Lallana, Barkley and Sterling.
Columbia are major dark horses, with Falcao being fit for the World Cup and James Rodriguez having an awesome season they will go far. They also have an easy group I believe!

 My brother is going for the Pool matches. He is just about resigned to the fact that England will most likely be coming home with him again...like they did when he went to watch them in SA !!

I know this is a rugby board but let's be honest, the FIFA World Cup remains the world's greatest sporting event. The RWC has a long way to go before it can even begin to compete . . . 1930 vs 1987!
So stop being a pussy and man up! Predict the winner of the FIFA WC and then, for tie-breaking purposes, predict the losing finalist and the two losing semi-finalists.

in nearly every apt comparison, soccer will always trump rugby, just look at the el classico matches when two of the biggest teams face, almost half a billion dollars worth of talent on the filed, holy freaking moly, o_O

but to rugby nuts like most us here, rugby union is No1,

Yes, I'll watch a game of rugby before a game of football just about any time . . . but not when it comes to World Cups. 
If I had the choice between travelling to Brazil for the 2014 WC or England for the 2015 RWC, I'd be doing the samba and practicing my Portuguese! 
The RWC just doesn't have the history, the prestige and the traditions that the FIFA World Cup has.
Note that if Brazil and Germany both win their groups then they can't meet in the final because they'll be in the same half of the knockout draw.
Note that anyone can make changes to their predictions right up until kick-off of Brazil vs Croatia.

will definatley change my selections then, as u can see, no homewrok was done in its selecctions, but will do more then the just name the frist storng teams which pop in my head, lolz.

and go enlgand, they have always been my fave soccer team of all the top dog nations,

IMO RWCs are overrated, and i also believe that after 15 or so RWCs the RWC like every other thing rugby will be overwhelmingly in NZs favour.

but if i had a choice of 2015 RWC and 2014 FIFA WC, it would be rugby easy as, a chance to see king richie play for the All Blacks one last time as he becomes the first captain to defend the RWC title,,, epic,

Shezza, the draw for FIFA 2014 can be found on literally hundreds of different websites.
If you can't be bothered to Google or Wikipedia it (or simply go to www.fifa.com) it's actually very simple . . . for the top half of the draw just write down A-H with alternate 1s and 2s like this:

For the bottom half of the draw just swap around the letters . . . 
1B2A
1D2C
1F2E
1H2G

So in the top half of the draw the winner of Group A plays the runner up of Group B while in the bottom half of the draw the runner up in Group A plays the winner of Group B and so on. Both halves of the draw can then be split into QFs and SFs. Whoever wins the match between 1A and 2B will play the winner of 1C vs 2D in the QFs and so on.
If you go strictly with the bookmakers current odds then the draw after the group stages will look something like this:

Well having lost Roooinek is obviously not going to do his duty, so it falls to me to set the record straight. Joint winners of this competition are Blob and She's za. There were many who picked Germany after the semi....but these chaps made there prediction at the right time, before the tournament started.

 I picked Germany in May, IIRC, on another site. I posted the proof elsewhere.

I even said at the time, that I supported England for various reasons but that my heart said that Spain was going to  win, but me head said that it would have been ze Germans.

That should make you feel good Vlag, but it does you no good in this tournament. Still things could be worse, think how stupid you'd feel if, like our sponsor, you had picked Belgium. 

 Yeah well, if  SA were involved, like 2010, I would first have supported SA, and when the dropped out it would have been England. That would have been, of course, if the lasted longer than SA. . I would still have loved Spain to win it again but I would  still have expected  Germany to win it. Despite no German teams making it to the final of the UEFA CL, I just had a feeling that the German sided in the CL were better than what the results have shown. I have given ou Maaikie some stick about their preperation but I honestly believe that Pep Guardiola (Bayern Munich) and Jurgen Klopp Borussia Dortmund) deserves a lot of credit. There are other coaches/managers of other clubs as well but the players from those two clubs played a  big role.

Personally I still think if Di Maria was in the Bargie team he would have attracted enough attention to unleash Messi....but the Germans had him surrounded yesterday. To me Di Maria was the player that made Real Madrid so dangerous on the break out.

 That could well be, Moz. Arsenal  have just signed Chilean striker Alex Sanchez. That could work well with Giroud not having such a big work load in the next season. Add to that Ozil and a fit again Theo Walcott. And then they could bring back  Corsa Rican striker Joel Campbell who is on loan to Olympiacos.

 Colombia should have won against Brazil.
