Looks like the same scenario as last week.
The quota loaded SA team is out of their depth in this game with the NZ side dominating everything.
Fatigue is going to be the key element once again.

Heavy pressure from the NZ side. They look more conservative in their effort though.

Long range penalty kick. This SA team is only kicks up to now.
The NZ side is efficient on the collision line.

3-15 half time. The quota loaded SA side, boosted in the finals through undeserved advantage, is down to 14 men.

Not a very good game so far. Lions are jittery. Losing Kwaqqa to a red could be the death knell.
Maybe bring Mapoe off, and Johan Van Rensburg on.

The SA crowd booed out the NZ side kicker on the last penalty kick. Maybe already turning to sour losing SA style.

Hate these red cards....no question thie Smith card was the right decision, but for that to quite possibly decide the whole tournament is very disappointing.

The SA unsurprisingly looks helpless, deprived of any idea, unable to build momentum.
The NZ side is managing the rest of the game. They want to hit on the counter, sparing their strength, they are fully aware that the altitude, the journey fatigue and the jet lag are what killed a very superior NZ side during the semi final.

Fatigue is this SA side only way to exist. They are indubiously inferior rugby players but the fatigue is crushing the NZ. New try for SA side.
8 minutes to go.

Well done Crusaders. The best team during the season, and deserved winners.
The forward pack of the Crusaders dominated the Lions for much of the game.
This was like the Springbok backline vs the All Black forwards. The best lineout forward outwitted the Lions lineout.
Snotty Crotty gets man of the match.

It is done, the NZ side is victorious. These men will go down in history as heroes who managed to overcome a quota loaded side, boosted in the final because SA would throw a tantrum otherwise and given undeserved advantages to support their delusionary claim as proficient rugby players.
Justice is served.

The best team during the season, and deserved winners.
If they were the best team during the season , how comes they were not given the home advantage.
Oh, wait, SA must be kept into the game and painted at a rugby level they do not have. That's how.
By the way, the culprits in this SA side of this historical failure, being unable to win against an opponent that got all odds stacked against them, are obviously SA non white players.

It would seem that adversity breeds grit eh ? We saw that from both sides today well done .Yee Har Crusties !

I have not watched the game and have just seen the result. I can therefore not comment on the red card. I do have a view on the red card, though. Of course there are many who are totally against players being sent off and every time after a red card, in a major game, we have the same old argument all over the show, i.e. the idea is that the game was meant to be about 15 men against 15. Of course all kinds of solutions will be on offer again.
I do not agree at all. The argument is always that the team should not be penalised due to the "stupidity" of one player. Thing is that there are no issues when the team is compromised when a player is "stupid enough" to concede a penalty or a scrum or a free kick, or if the team have to be one man down for 10 minutes due to the "stupidity" of one player. But, heaven forbid, if the team is one man down until the end of the game. Fact is that rugby is a team sport and all actions by individual players have an influence on the team collectively.
06 Aug 2017, 02:56#38
A red card is a stupid way to decide a final. We would have liked to beat the Lions with their full squad on the field -->that way, they have no excuses. That is how real men play rugby.

Just finished watching the game congrats to the Crusaders, well done boys. Lions really gave it their all and it was a fast paced game that was good to watch & fit into the Lions strategy.
If the game was played with both teams having 15 men the Crusaders would have been hard pressed to win this. They were really exhausted for the last 20 minutes. Fortunately they had built a good lead. They played very well and deserve to be champions! What an achievement for Robertson!!
