There were four international flyhalfs on display today and I took a good look at all four, None of then showed anything, My comments on them are as followsP
Carter
The way he played today was a poor replica of Morne Steyn - he showed exactly nothing, No line breaks - no attacking play - just kicking (not very effectively) and passing the ball to a backline that showed no spark. He also missed 2 tackles There was bo mongrel in him at all.
Beale
He constantly looked like he did not know what to do when he reeives balls. I cannot remember one outstanding play on his part, Indeed very average/
Barrett
He tried to replicate the play of Jantjies ;ast week and we all know Jantjies was desperately poor in that game. His goalkicing game was a bit better than Jantjies - but gfor the rst they were on par. Two really nondescropt games thus far in Super 15.
Cooper
ooper today was a mess - and a bad one at that. He was bloody lucky - that aiimless throw of the ball to nobdy was only not a try because of an earlier infringment by the Hurricanes, A game I beieve Cooper would like to forget
Summary
None of the four flyhalves mentioned above showed anything at all an was in fact really no contributor to their team efforts.
There are five more international fyhalfs on display tomottow. Cruden was poor last week - but could suprise against the weakish Cheetahs team. He does not like pressure and the Cheetahs may throw everything they have at him. Hwever, hehas a good chance of success.
Goosen will try his best tomorrow - but he is upagainst one of the top teams in Super 15. If he comes through that game well tomorrow it will enhance his standings as a referee.
we know wha to expect from Mporne Steyn and the Force is not a good team. I hope he tries something else than kicking away balls.
Lambie is the real deal and I am sure he will play an exceprional game tomorrow.
Jantjies = shit happens
