Well kiwis better look out -  FOLAU only one season of rugby!!!!!!!!! ?????

He is sensational and to think that's with only about 20 games of rugby to his name in his career....... to think SBW played nearly 3 seasons before he even became a reasonable rugby centre.....

There is daylight between Folau and the next best 15 in world rugby and he can only get better as he learns more about the game...

On another note - Saffa performance v French very dominant that forward pack is CLEARLY the biggest and toughest in game at the moment and just cant see anyone holding their own vs that pack...

Final Note on Cricket.... hahahahahahahaaha POMS GOT SMASHED>>>!!>!>!>!>!>!>!

Yarpy Redsman only a yarpy would harp on about how big and tough the Springboks big useless forwards are...yr giving the game away again mate...

As for Folau- like i said previously he spent alot of the season on the wing and still a ROOKIE at fullback...

But lets compare his kicking game with Daggs just for argument sake...

Stats as from last month..

Folau had 14 kicks for 484 metres

Daggs 70 kicks for 2458 metres.

Thats a huge difference Yarpy Red...i think thats the daylight you were talking about between Folau and the best 15.

But they're two are completely different fullbacks.

Israel Dagg is more a traditional fullback.

He doesn't always do the finishing, he attracts a lot of defenders and sets up tries. His try-assist rate is extraordinary. Occasionally he'll score them but his try-assist rate is incredible.

Whereas Folau is a winger playing fullback.

He's more a finisher and the Aussies just rely on him, but he doesn't do much assisting. The Aussies just give him the pill and cross their fingers and hope something will happen and usually it does.

How about that stat... TRIES??????????????  -vs daggs - think Id rather have tries than kicks DAGG the FAGG very ordinary this year and hes been playing the game all his life...... Folau = ONE SEASON - considering you are a thick kiwi I will spell it out -

1x season of rugby and ALREADY CLEARLY the best full back in the game!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is possible for one to be objective you know - that is unless you're a kiwi....

Saffa pack is monstrous and will indeed smash the aging kiwis in the RWC if AIG don't rig it I think rise of the saffa and aussie and pom come next RWC will keep the kiwi AIG nancy/s bit anxious and the wives even more so from the inevitable beating they'll cop when the AIGs fail ....

Now let a truly unbiased person give an assessment.   I have no problem with rating Folau as a full back highly - but whether he is the best in World Rugby is indeed questionable.

Dagg this year was a joke in bad taste - last year he had a very good year - this year he was bog ordinary and at times a case of unbelievable incompetence.   Defence was eerily poor at times.

So neither are really comparable to Leigh Halfpenny - who in this case beat them by ten lengths.

No chance Mike - Folau easily light years ahead of both - Halfpenny good penalty kicker and alright in broken play - but 5ft vs 6'5" of aerial mastery...?? we all know how that ends....... This weekend we should be able to see - I do recall the pint sized half penny getting stretchered off last year when Sharpy? collected him? Hes just too little - Im sure as a saffa you understand this????

....the Mighty All Blacks rewrote the record books this year not so clever mike with Dagg at fullback so if thats bog ordinary then what does that say about the competition coming from South Africa and the the rest of the rugby nations ?

Still smarting from Daggs performance at Ellis Park where we kicked your yarpy butts by the sounds of it.  You would'nt know objectivity if it hit you over the head lol.

Yarpy Redsman can't even tell the difference between a fullback and a winger. Get back to us Redsman after Folau has played a season at fullback instead of on the wing.

Did'nt you say earlier Folau should be playing in the centres...careful not to contradict yourself too much buddy...

Brycy

Come now - I do not look at one match a year - as an objective person I look at all Super 15 and All Black games - hence my assessment of Dagg this year.   What did he do at Ellis Park - he saved one try by le Roux by tackling him  as he was about to score a try.  Not successful - but Le Roux's foot touched the outside line and the try was not allowed.

For the rest he did NOTHING of note in that test anyway.

Dagg this year was a sad reflection compared to what he was last year - when I called him the best full back in the world.  He lost his gloss and that is a fact.

Halfpenny's been at it for a number of seasons now. Great player. Plus he has a strong kicking game.

Folau has had an awesome debut season. Great running 15. Needs to work on his kicking game though. Enormous potential.

Don't disregard Willie Le Roux though. He makes gigantic strides every time he plays. He will be a giant among full backs.

Dagg still hasn't found his mojo. Would replace him in an instant with Anscombe.

Throw Brown into the mix and we have quite a competition for the worlds best 15.

Have to agree that Dagg has not produced this season, Folau and Le Roux are works in progress Le Roux especially has that Andre Joubert look about him, Halfpenny kinda wins World's best by default as he plays pretty consistently and the SH counterparts aren't firing.

folau had had a good debut, but hes the poster child of what the wallabies have been in 2013, outstanding against the weaker tier teams, out of his league against the top dawgs.

willie le roux is the exact same as folau, theres a reason why meyer wouldnt play le roux at fullback against the All Blacks or wallabies, and u only need to look at the Boks other opponets in 2013 to have a good laugh, talk about stacking the deck, but Boks needed anything over a 79% year, and playing chumps for the most part is definitely one way to go about it.
but a little side tacked there, le rouxs defence is too shit for fullback against any top nation, leave him on the wing where hes all class and his defensive issues wont be so costly.

dagg has lost a lot of his mojo, but still streaks ahead of folau and le roux.
what many dont consider is the number of trys scored by the All Blacks that were set up by dagg, and how they had such a crucial impact at that time of the game.
hes also got a frans steyn power boot, something not too many folks realise and the smarts of when and where to use it.

halfpenny and hogg are super class fullbacks, especially halfpenny who i would rate as 2013 best.

but folau is the one to look out for, he still has mountains of room for improvement which would be scary considering the progress he has made.
lucky for the rest of the world, the wallabies are counting on fatboy fake mackenzie to get it out of him, and hes already shamed out redsneck who was so bold to claim the wallabies would win everyting once fatboy fake mackenzie was coach, talk about nek minit aye, lolz,

As regular readers will know, I'm no supporter of the hopelessly biased and bitter Redschild but I can't argue with him on the subject of Israel Folau.
The majority of League converts have failed dismally to live up to their hype but Israel Folau has been nothing short of sensational. An absolutely amazing talent and one of the first names I'd put down on my world XV . . . before Sonny Bill!

Rooinek - haha agree we don't often see eye to eye - but this is a lay down misere call... seriously....

Folau is completely and utterly the best FB in the world after HALF a season there (sorry Brycey to overstate his number of games in that position)...

I stand by the call that @ the Tahs next year with Kurtley there too wouldn't be surprised to see Folau have a crack in the centres maybe in trials at least... but 15 he has made his own position.... and I cant see any 15 even close to him -

Re Dagg the Fagg I recall Hooper the flanker outpacing him this year...... For me highlander Smith @ FB would be better choice for AIGs given their depth of wingers and his failure in the centres.....

Anyway in world XV atm - Folau one of few aussies to make the cut.

@Sucker I knew you kiwis were slow but I'll let you in on a secret.... you don't need to type "www" anymore on browsers........................................

Boys you are all forgetting one player. Willie le roux. No 15 in the world is able to spark a backline like Willie. His other aspects of play were very sound on the tour and he could well be considered the top 15 in world rugby.
I still suspect fool ou doesnt like the physical stuff too much. Dagg is a good allrounder .

Ha ha Redsman, when you have a pretty useless team you have to focus on one player & say he is the best. And why not, you have to get pleasure from somewhere.
In fact he is a joy to watch & he will only get better. It's great when a player emerges who has so much skill and grace (high ball). He will be fantastic next year.

Your living in a delusional state if you rate Dagg the Fagg as a better 15 than Folau and Le Roux.

Hogg, Halfpenny, Brown, Kearney, Folau and Le Roux are all his better.

The Fagg should have been dropped last season already. He's just not up to test standard anymore. One would get better use out of him by making him the team's baggage handler.

Keep dreaming!!

"I do hope that Hansen and Co have not read Meyer's summary of the season, and his vision for the future, and that they share your opinion.........."
theres what meyer says, and then theres what meyer does.

willie le roux starting at fullback for the Boks
vs italy
vs scotland
vs samoa
vs pumas x 2
vs scotland
vs france

wow of le rouxs 7 starts at fullback, france was the strongest rugby nation, followed closely by scotland??? or is it the pumas??? or is it italliains???
according to the IRB it would be the 9th placed scots.

havent read meyers summary myself, but i dont need any more laughs, cos i got enough saffa brus here to crack me up with their two bit bob theories.
and u dont have to worry about hansen, hes never interested in anything SA is doing, cos kiwis are the rugby innovators, the rest of the rugby union world are just followers.

@clean cut,

le roux better then dagg???

i hope u loved le rouxs ellis park stats of missing 100% of his tackles and 5 handling errors.
his attack is top chelf but with risk and his defence is shit.

personally i dont even know how u can compare the two, dagg was the incumbent fullback in all of the All Blacks matches but more importantly the All blacks top matches  vs the Boks, england, wallys and france.
le roux on the other hand wore the 15 against france and other power house nations like SAMOA, ITALY, SCOTLAND.

le roux at fullback reminds me of the old pop song whoch goes something like,,,
"that dont impress me much"

Therein lies your problem. Go find it, read it and learn. Willie is a work in progress. In the near future he is going to become one of your nightmares. You have forgotten that Meyer was considered to be a joke by a lot of people before and a few years later he had you lot changing your approach to rugby to adapt to that. It can happen again. and im not talking about the ball, i dont need to read any more funny kak like rubbish from a saffa, cos the locals around here give me plenty to feast on.

i still think le roux is an awesome player, but only against the weaker teams, of which the Boks have had plenty of in 2013

and ur wrong about peoples opinions on meyer, many myself included were hailing his appointment as Boks coach as a great thing for the Boks, it chnaged after he made useless tactics and selections in 2012.
the saffa masses here have been more supportive in 2013, as they look at the wins meyers has accumulated, but like i have said many times alreday, and will say many times in the future, the level of easy beat competiton that the Boks had helped big time.
oh wait a minute, scotland arent considered easy beats in SA are they???

as for our lot changing thier approach to rugby, please cearadyne, what is it with every saffa trying to be a comedian???
the only thing that changed between 2012 and 2013 was the All Blacks have beaten meyers Boks 4 times in total, in 2012 it was only two from two,

Ou Sushi, I can go into a long and winding essay like my old friend but I will make it short for you. Of course I know that you will jump up and cry bullshit but that is your right.

From 2007 onwards and until 2009 we klapped you with HM's so-called high kick and charged and it culminated in 2009 when we comprehensively moered you to such an extent that you decided that the only way to get back at us was to improve your kicking game. You went as far as getting in Aussie footy coaches to help your wings and fullbacks at the franchises to assist them in dealing with the high kicks and suddenly your wings who could not catch a high ball to save their lives became experts. You also started to rely more on your kicking game. In every game that we play, you guys kick more than us. You are more dependent on your kicking game than us. All of that came after Meyer started using it to win our first S14 title in 2007 and Jake White subsequently applied the same tactics.

Now take it and do with it what you want. You can argue till you're blue in your face and I do hope, as I said earlier, that Hansen and Co share your opinion. It will make life so much easier come RWC 2015, and if you do find it laughable, then so be it. Remember..... he who laughs last...........

All Blacks vs Boks 2007 - 2009
tests played 8  -All Blacks won 4, Boks won 4

so the Boks with meyers kick tactics during this 07/09 period is as u called it us getting klapped???
i love how u as a Bok fan thinks that winning 50% of the games against the All Blacks is tantamount to pwnge, lolz, :oP

but 09 was tough, and the Boks did teach us some valuable lessons, so thank u PDV who as we all know was the head coach and not meyer, well, all except ceradyne,

its called adapting, those who adapt will always be world leaders, those who dont,,,,

as u can clearly see ceradyne, the All Blacks have not out kicked the Boks in every single test as u so sharkbokly put it.
but heres the real kicker. the main difference between the All Blacks kicking game, and the Boks kicking game is, we have more then kicks to rely on, its why in every single one of those tests i listed above u wont find the Boks making more running with ball in hand ,meters then the All Blacks, except for the very last test in eliis park where Boks made 722 meters to the All blacks 503 (helped largely due to the Boks led by JDV stupid decisions to try and run everything from everywhere and the 60% possesion they had for the match).
but in every single other test, the All Blacks out attacked the Boks or as any rugby enthusiast will call it, a typical All Black/Bok test.

"Now take it and do with it what you want. You can argue till you're blue in your face and I do hope"
or, i can just prove u wrong like i just did with ur "In every game that we play, you guys kick more than us" comment,
dont worry, ur not my first or last saffa,

yes yes, typical Bok fan bravado, weve all head the recent reasons why the All Blacks will lose to the Boks in the RWC, cos we can beat the Boks everywhere in the universe exept for the NH.
seriously man, trevor noah dosent hold a cnadle to the average saffa blogger.

Halfpenny is not the best fullback in the world, in the six nations and British and Irish Lions his brilliant kicking shrouded his average attacking play, also the fact he is smallish and makes a tackle makes everyone assume each tackle is a fantastic but fail to realise that it's a textbook one. Living in Wales and having Welsh friends kind of forces you to watch all of Wales games and I can honestly say all of this is true.

Sasu you are trying your best, aren't you. How many times have we been told that HM started the "high kick and charge" rugby and that that was one of the things carried over into the Bok set-up. We then one the 2007 RWC using that. Peter de Villers took over in 2008 and decided that he was going to try his infamous "expansive" rugby and got moered like there was no tomorrow. In 2009 he returned to what was known to the players and that worked and he consequently outclassed you in the following year, 2009. A year in which the Bulls, coincidentally, also won the S14 again. That was when your Queen Henry started bitching about the kicking game and that the rules were kak and needed to be changed while, at the same time, started working on his own team's frailties when it came to the tactical kicking game.

I am not calling for a return to the high kick and charge game. I am just trying to point out that HM should not be underestimated and that you should not be surprised if he is  innovative enough to be able to come up with something to trump you bunch again. He has done it before. Be aware.

He has the highest winning % of any All Black back who has played at least 30 tests.
At an incredible 92.11%  No mean feat considering the modern All Black sits around 88%.
No All Black back has over 90%.  I doubt an Aussie or South African would be over 80% so
you can see how remarkable this is.

For the record hes Played 38 won 35 Lost 2 Drawn 1.
It's not inflated by playing lower ranked teams either with 24 against SA, Aus, France and England. 36 of the 38 against teir 1 Opponents.

I know this doesn't prove he's the best but still an amazing stat.
