Cheers Seb , its a damn shame he couldnt keep his weight down the poor bloke .Looking at all those Hawaiians its pretty obvious where our Maori ancestors came from [ Hawaiiki ] the only difference in our languages is in the accent and the spelling the spelling is due to different people translating them into a written form EG Aroha-nui and aloha .Aroha and aloha are pronounced exactly the same .Theres a Hawaiian dude who was the last of the traditional navigators who created a school to train others before the art was lost .People from NZ ,Rarotonga ,Samoa the Cook Islands etc have all been taught to navigate the Pacific using only the natural clues provided ,wave patterns ,birds ,currents .stars and so on .Pretty groovy stuff it is PS check out Nainoa Thompson on wayfinding ,anyone who loves the water/fishing will enjoy it .
