Maybe I am too old for you lot. MY memory fgoes back to the Snyman Brothers in the 1970's (Dawie and Jacky) Jacky' son is the present coach of the Maties. Their grandmother was Maggy Pauw - whose mother was the second wife of my Great grandfather and gew up on the familmy farm Zeekoegat. She regarded herself is a sister of my grandfather and bought the family holiday home in Still Bay in 1933, He daughter married a Ds Snyman and the two players grew up in Bloemfontein. Until the erfly 1960's my grandparents used he Still Bay home free of charge for their annual holidays in March-April very year, There were close friendly toes between the two families for many years,

The more famous brothers were the Du Plessis three playing for the then WP team in the later 1980's and early 1980's. Carel was by some distnance the best Springbok wing ever in the amateur era. and was Springbok coach in 1997 when he initiated a 15 man rugby game approach ever in the professional era. He put to/gether the rugby squad Mallett inherited from him and with that team the Springboks won 17 test matches in a row. The system fell apart when the players had to be replaced and that was he end of Mallett as a coach,

In the period 2000 to 2017 Springbok rugby deteriorated since there was a reversal to 10 man rugby and in the period 2004 to 2017 the Springboks only won 4 matches against the AB's until 2018 when Erasmus started with the process to e-introduced 15 ,man rugby in SA. Of the four matches only won 1 in New Zealand.
