Lets say that HM is employed until the end of the upcoming WC and is then fired or leaves. Jake is not interested, Mallet is clearly not interested.

Ludeke, at this point wants the job. We are then seriously doomed if this happens. Naka is a no-no. Alister and Robbie want a job, any job.

At this time, my inspired choice could go to Ackerman, he has worked wonders but i am sure he will not be given the opportunity.

That leaves us with Saffex or Mike as the coach, selector and mentor as an option

or

We look at a foreign coach and possibly a Kiwi at that too. (Political advantage on a Kiwi as he probably would have been a black but is now white, all his team mates were black but some are still black others have reverted back to their original color or brown and white and quite possibly he would have selected a full complement of 23 who were all blacks) This bloke would definitely not have accusations of quotas thrown at him.

Why not a kiwi coach. Worked wonders for us Aussies. Took an average team to below average.

At least with a Kiwi coach we would be taught how to cheat and be offsides all the time and not get pinged. That would be a start

Rugga I think Jake would leap at another Bok stint. Hell Henry got a second chance and he lost the first time around!

Moz, i hope you are right about Jake as the only other option that i could possibly see and that is a very slight and one i would entertain, could be Ackerman.
Saffex and Mike could form a formidable combo though, if Jake said no.

Heyneke isn't going anywhere.

He's an ex Bull and that in itself secures him his spot.

Let's face it guys Meyer's record so far ain't too bad.
Posters are gripping about his selections but so far his record is protecting him. At least with these selections he will know where he stands with the ol' timers & how fast he needs to bring in younger talent.

Is he? I have read many comments and  bitching about the Sharks' tactics lately. Apparently they are kicking too much, they have useless players like Frans Steyn Jannie and Alberts, their captain is ill-disciplined, and the list goes on.

Any one of Jake, Mallet, Ventwer and Rassie could coach the Boks with distinction. However Meyer is far fom done. JW makes the point I made yesterday.(He often does) that Meyer will learn how good his oldies are this year and better now than than later. So there is some method to his madness. Dont write Meyer off yet his loss ratio is excellent. Only loses are to the wee abs and we know one test in Denedin was lost through abysmal goal kicking. Another by the refs treatment on Bissie and that forced us into a difficult game plan at Ellis Park. We should really have won those three tests.
I ask the oaks not to get too down on Meyer. If the team does not do well and he persists with the golden oldies then its time to really moan our heads off. Those who like to indulge in moaning might have something to look forward to although I think Meyer is shrewed enough to see the facts, whatever they are, when they are in front of his nose. (Some will probably moan if it doesnt happen!!! Hahhahahahahaha)
By the way wee matfiled cannot be included in the golden oldies - he is simply an oldie - a grey beard at that.

Conservative Dutchmen like Akkers and Naka. Bwahahahahahha your stereo typing has just exploded snapster.
Jake is reasonably conservative and he is English.
Give Meyer a chance to work through the golden oldies. I am still hop ing he gets it right and sifts out the chaff.

Saffex.... If you threw out all the so called Dutchmen you would barely have any players. IMO i don't care about race color or creed, as long as they can play rugby, women included.
You are a racist, foul mouthed fuckwit !

Are Brendan and Rassie included in your 'these'? Fuck you to vilify any race on this site or in public. If you said that in the UK you could get arrested. Racism is the scrounge of the earth and you are simply filth.

Out with the extremist stuff and in with realism.   Any SA coach has some hang ups or another.  All present and past coaches put other interests - like political interference and personal prejudice first and only afterwards think of rugby interests.   The above leads to serious selection problems and that will not go away with any local coach.
It also implied a negative and non-productive game plan for the Springboks.  White realized that and in 2007 brought in Eddie Jones to get things in respect of backline play improved.
I would have no problem with a foreign coach - but it preferably should be a local coach like White - with a Kiwi or Aussie backlne assistant coach and a local forward assistant coach.   Both those should have serious inputs in squad and teams selection.

Puke is the guy to be the next leader.
HE has all the skills required to make it work.
1. Politically connected to the ANC comrades.2. Below average player.3. Can fill the transformation requirements as decreed.4. Arrogant.5. Uncanny knack to avoid selecting talented players.6. Meets the ANC criteria of disrespecting the Springbok jersey.7. Will select himself as Captain.
What more could you ask for. The ANC, Cheeky, Puke and all Queens supporters would be over the moon.

@claydog,

" Why not a kiwi coach. Worked wonders for us Aussies. Took an average team to below average."

with comments like that filled with no evidence what so ever, ur going to fit right in here at sarugby.com, but i will do my best to educate u as that is why sarugby recruited me.

robbie deans wallabies vs,,,
Boks - played 14, won 9, lost 5 - 64%
england - played 6, won 4, lost 2 - 66%
france - played 6, won 5, lost 1 - 83%
ireland - played 4, won 2, lost 1, draw 1 - 50%
wales - played 9, won 8, lost 1 - 89%
scotland - played 2, lost 2 - 0%
italy - played 6, won 6 - 100%
argentina - played 2, won 2 - 100%
All Blacks - played 18, won 3, lost 14, draw 1 - 16.7%

as u can see, robbie deans was extremely successful against all tier one teams bar the All Blacks which is the same boat as the rest of the world, and scotland which is pretty sad but really nothing more then a crazy anomaly.

the wallabies have only ever won 3 TriNat titles, and robbie dean was coach of a wallabies team that did that.
rod macqueen won it 2000, eddie jones in 2001 and no other wally coach did it until deano arrived.
a pretty solid feat considering the TriNats is regarded as the worlds No1 internationl comp.

when deano took over from the wallabies, the were ranked 5th on the IRB, and under his tenure they spent over 90% of their time ranked No2, second only to the greatest team in the universe the mighty All Blacks.
when deano retired, they had fallen to thrid place, but still alot better then  puny 5th place.
