In some ways, Sanzaar got it right. The Crusaders would have won regardless of the format; they were deserved champions. And the SA audience wouldn’t have watched the final if it had featured the Hurricanes in Christchurch.

So if you look at it from a marketing point of view, it’s close to a 10 out of 10.

SR competition is a marketing trick. It is rigged to favour SA sides and this disrupts competition.

Agreement is not required. Just as the incoming termination of SA rugby does not have been aggreed on.

Would be so easy if that was the case.

People in denial usually jump at any opportunity to deny. And in the case of SA rugby supporters, it is better to leave them room to deny, because the addiction is deep.

Same stuff as for NZ sides: they can not beat too harshly SA sides or unintended consequences might happen.

An exit door is commonly left as it must be done with people who can not take it.
