Snyman was very good against England. That said Steph was very good in the first Puma test. I'd probably go with Snyman and Eben. He was one of the bench players who stood out in the Puma loss.

Wilco at 3 should be a given. Malherbe will be problematic again. Had one good half against the Pumas in Durban. Nothing outside of that.

I don't get the negativity surrounding Whiteley. He doesn't in any way lack physicality. I'm not sure about captain, though I heard that he was doing the leading under Rassie. Whiteley, Mostert and Louw is an intriguing prospect. Sadly, I'm beginning to lose a little confidence in Rassie's judgement. 

Normal selection BS from the prejudiced arsehole - but I think he may be disappointed in some cases.

I personally think that somebody will have to call the line-outs and that somebody is not Snyman.  and why put Mostert as a 7 - the first time ever on test level - despite the fact that he was not really effective when playing for the Lions at 7.

Another problem is the retention of the useless Louw who was poor in the last two tests.   A total failure as an opensider - what will make him better as a blindsider?

Very good post if you are totally prejudiced with very little knowledge of forward play.   So lets wait and see what comes up on Thursday.   My guess is there will be at circa five differences to the 11 players Mozart came up with.

Louw wasn't poor, but quieter. He was excellent in the first test. I admit that he needs a big game to clear doubt. The same goes for other players too. We need some power at 7, why not Mostert? If we can try Steph, surely it's more logical to try Mostert.

Even if Rassie makes that many Clever Mike, it doesn't mean they were the right decisions. 

Balls - Louw was even quitter in the first test than he was in the second test.   And Du Toit is a five times better player than Mostert.   Playing at 7 for he Stormers he was much better than Mostert was in the few games he played for the Lions at 7.   Since Mostert has no test experience at 7 why pick him ahead of Du Toit?      

No it wont be the right decisions for Erasmus to make, since it would not be in line with our world expert members ideas based on prejudice.      

Louw was one of the most involved players in the first test Clever Mike. This is how you always display prejudice, you go off on rants against things that are easily variable. 

Based on what was he involved in?   Pakie tried his best - but most of it was BS.  There was nothing else - lets face facts in reality.   For example in the first test Louw had the lowest tackle count as a loosie with - 7 tackles made and 2 missed.   In the second test was 8 tackles made - 4 missed.   

For havens sake he was the opensider here the tackle count is supposed to be the highest o f any loose forward.   

You got knocked from pillar to post Clever Mike. You deny reality, and bring absolutely no evidence to support your slanted fairy tales. It becomes quite boring. 

50 % of what Coach Erasmus has to select from are proven failures, so that doesn't leave him with much.

You gave no examples. You never answer any of my questions with anything more than opinions and ESPN numbers.

So opensiders hunt balls - and you talk balls,   First of all hunting balls means the player must be first in to protect the ball ormake a turnover.  Unfortunately Louw is pace-deficient and get to breakdown points  too late to be effective.   There is always the danger that a late arriver gives away penalties - and he apparently is becoming more careful and less effective because his penalty count has declined.

Furthermore -   it is statistically proven that opensiders make more tackles than blindsiders or the no 8's.   Louw has managed just the opposite - he takes the lowest number of tackles and missed more than any other loosie.

Tell your sidekick please - but I will not charge a fee for the two of you fir rugby education.

I do not think experimenting is the way to go .and would not make any change to the Tight 5  forward combination.    I would basically agree with what you wrote,

In respect of the loosies I differ from you.   In the tests prior to Erasmus appointment Louw was selected ay 8 but on the field he played at 7.ith Du Toit at 8.   I am not sure Vermeulen will last through to the WC this year and it is indeed time to consider a suitable replacement in that position. 

That is why I think that the likely better situation would be to select Van Staden and retain Kolisi at 6,   I would play Mostert from the bench.  Due to Louw's presence in the squad there is no replacement at loosie left other than him,

Maaik, from my recollection, you doxxed yourself and then gave permission to someone to post the article. Then you complained when Moz posted the pic. There was nothing wrong with that. You placed it in the public domain. What I did not like was Moz then making fun and ridicule at the photo. You can complain about that, but the posting of the photo was your own fault.
