I have always been an advocate for Fourie Du Preez. I think that Reinach and Faf De Klerk look promising. I really feel for Hougaard but I don't think he's the answer at 9.

How fucking pathetic to now suddenly blame Hougaard who was the hero a week ago. How pathetic....... The issue is far deeper

Yes, Fourie Du Preez is a top player and has always been my first choice scrum-half. He's one of the few of the old-guard, who should be in that RWC squad. Yes, both Cobus and Faf look promising too.
Dave, where did I blame Hougaard? I still think he will play an important come RWC in the more open, running rugby games BUT when the game's tight and tactical as it was today I'd rather have Du Preez at the helm.

I praised Hougaard because he played well against the All Blacks and I've criticised him for not playing well against the Irish, just as I do with every player. I've stated many a time that I'm unsure about him, I would still have him in over Ruan Pienaar.

I wonder whether you think FOurie du Preez would have done much better, the Irish was all ove r Hougaard (Yes twice he dropped a ball) because we fell over our own feet at the ruck and didn't protect Hougaard.

Yes BB, I do think Du Preez would have done better, I think he's calmer than Hougaard, a better passer and he's got a decent boot too. I agree that in a game like against NZ, Hougaard is probably more useful but in a tight, NH game like this I prefer Du Preez.

Depends if Fourie du Preez has any say in what plays to set up. If he does then yes, I think we would have played smarter rugby and may of won.
