cup teams have been announced and oimatey and myself now know who our opponents are.

im facing scruffys boys who scored 446pts last week.
looking at his team theres no real surprise picks in there, pretty much the core of what all teams will have.
he will be forced to use two of his transfers on his flyhalf where leilafano has a bye and sopoaga is injured, and he will be forced to use his other transfer on the centers where he has bieber, but also conrad and kahui who are both injured this week.

fingers crossed that hes that some of the teams named this week screws him up, but like me he does have a wildcard up his sleeve.

i also noticed he had gear on the bench, his inclusion against the kings could reap massive rewards if he chooses to gamble with him, o_O

oimatey is facing team sock who scored an impressive 502 last week.
like most teams at this stage, no real surprise bolters in his team.
team sock will be forced to use two of his transfers this week too. one on his centers where he has bieber but also kahui and conrad, and the other transfer needs to be used on his hooker where moore has a bye and parson is injured.

team sock also have speight & g smith in his teams, so if anything should happen to any of his other outside backs, he will be running out of transfers quicksmart and unfortunately for mr sock, hes used his wildcard already.

i dont want to jinx myself, especially with the teams not named yet, but i feel good about both our chances this week, :o)

ps. hope the commentators curse dosent apply to blogs, lolz, o_O

Good luck to you and Oimatey. Hope you guys don't get monstered like I was last week.

Just had a quick look at your team and you have a few injuries among your loosies. Besides Jacques Engelbrecht,  the Cheetahs have just announced that Lappies Labuschagne won't be playing this weekend.

Good stuff, this Cup thing - adds that extra element of fun. Your prospects look good Sasue. Surprising the number of players in the overall competition who have already used their wildcard knowing that Round 17 is coming up. I think if we can get through Round 17 with a solid squad, if not complete and then use wild card in Round 18 we should be able to make significant gains in the overall rankings - maybe get into the top 500.

I am in a pickle with the Lappies, Engelbrecht injuries and just read that Willison is out as well. So I have one more transfer left and 11 more teams to announce lineups !! hehe. Kirwan said he is contemplating other changes (Mealamu and Braid are to be rested) - really hope that doesn't mean Luatua or Piutau are also given a rest. Good news is Ranger moves back to outside center - thought he was wasted on the wing against the Stormers - and should tear up the Rebels.

May go with Horne at center although I don't consider his matchup with the Stormers a plus matchup and Hodgson at loosie to start building the "Round 17 Reserves".

@rooy,

thanks for that bro and thanks for the heads up on lappies, i knew i should have subbed him off last week, hopefully theres not too many mmore changes to my team, cos that could give me major problems, i now have 0ne forced transfer, hope thats all.

like our players preforming, theres a lot of luck involved with cup opponents too, u got the short straw last week with that 500+ monster of an opponent, he would have smashed anyone of us this week.

hopefully my opponent saves his wildcard for the june test series, if he uses it this week, will make my cup life harder then it already is, o_O

@oimatey,

using the wildcard after rnd 17 is the ultimate goal, especially as the test ereis are bound to give some top players ab injury or two to normal frontline players who folks without their wildcard might leave on their bench.
thats a great call and suspicously very wise for one so new there mr matey, im beginning to think that the ways of the fantasy are not entirely new to u, o_O

good call on ranger, hes a better player both fanatsy wise and in real life when hes at center where he has more people to beat.
think i will still recruit folau this week though, but want to give both piutau and ben smith a run too as my outside back trio.

 Sasu - only played fantasy football (NFL) before. Thats pretty fun too, but fantasy rugby is way better simply because the game is my first love.

Tell you what - when it comes time for the fantasy football season I'll send you an invite and you can try your hand at it if you are so inclined, as well as anyone else on this board. NFL helps me get through the rugby off-season although the games take far too long to complete with all the commercial breaks - friggin ridiculous.
