Fantasy Cup

In addition to competing in the overall public league involving all registered participants, selected participants will also be entered into the Fantasy Cup. The Fantasy Cup is a knock-out tournament within the Promotion beginning during the season involving an even number of Fantasy Super Rugby teams (such number to be determined by the Promoter during the Fantasy season at its sole discretion based on the total number of participants).

As an example, if the Fantasy Cup commences in Fantasy Round 10, the Promoter will select the 16,384 participants who scored the highest number of points in Fantasy Round 9 to enter the first round of the Fantasy Cup in Fantasy Round 10.

Each qualifying participant takes on another Fantasy Cup qualifying participant in the first round of the Fantasy Cup (in this example, Fantasy Round 10). The participant with the higher Fantasy Round score (out of the two participants at the conclusion of Fantasy Round 10) will then progress to the next round of the Fantasy Cup (being Fantasy Round 11) while the other participant will be eliminated from the Fantasy Cup. This process continues until Fantasy Round 23 when the two remaining participants will contest the Fantasy Cup final, where the participant with the highest Fantasy Round score after the Final will be the winner of the Fantasy Cup.

If a Fantasy Cup match is drawn (i.e. two participants that are playing against each other in the Fantasy Cup have the same Fantasy Round score), the following tie-breaks will be applied until a winner is determined for that Fantasy Cup round:

  • 1. The participant whose Fantasy team scored the most tries in the Fantasy Round;
  • 2. The participant whose Fantasy team that conceded the fewest tries in the Fantasy Round; then
  • 3. If the participants are still drawn after points 1 and 2 above, the winner of that Fantasy Cup round will be the participant who was the first to register their details for the Promotion on the FOX SPORTS website, as determined by the Promoter.

as described above this is a nice little side game which requires no extra effort what so ever, just pick the best team u can to score u the most points.

the crux of it is, for those who qualify, were about to be pit head to head against other random players & if u score more then them at the end of the round, u progress to the next round the following week, while ur opponent is eliminated, very simple but loads of fun, :o)

sASUE

i checked up on site and under the Cup heading they pit in Team George.   So I assume my opponent in Round ten would be that guy.   He scored 399 points in Round 9 against my  396 - so it may be a close contest.   He could be a Crusader supporter - defintely from New Zealand  If his squad is anthing to go by.  It consists of -

 *   Crusaders   -   5 players;

 *   Hurricanes   -  5 players;

 *   Blues           -   3 players;

 *  Highanders  -   2 players;

 *  Chiefs          -   1 player;

 *  Reds           -    2 players,

 *  Brumbies    -    2 players;

 *  Waratahs    -    1 player

 * Cheetahs     -    1 player

Seems not to like the Chiefs either.

Round 9 was the only round he outscored me with 399 points against my 396 - not too big a difference.  His total points scored was 2467 - nearly 900 points less than yours truely,  Should say I should be able to beat him in the first round - but if the Crusaders does well and the Hurricanes also - I might be sunked.   Hope the Chiefs gives the Waratahs uphill and the Cheetahs and Sharks does well.

What is your opponent looking like?

Nice idea. The Premiership football fantasy comp I play in has something similar.

I drew the "bruisers". Looks like a decent enough team and I hope I'm not black and blue after the round!

In that case I would have imagined he would have played under the name "hard cock".  LOL  Did you check his info and selections?   Is he a strong opponent?

 He shouldn't be stiff competition, will definitely have to rise to the occasion to give it a go ! His team actually looks little limp and needs some new blood tp help with his performance issues!  haha

 Watch him go and beat me now !
