Advice - please.   I am nearly finished with my team selections for Round 1 and some changes may still be forthcoming if the case of players not been in the starting line-ups in round 1.

The situation is very difficult - because there are only four teams playing in round one - and members are limited to five players per team.   The second problem is that the better players in the teams involved are bloody expensive.

However - in the main I only picked cheap SA players that may be in the starting line up in Round Two for the bench - to ensure that I keep within budget.

My selections are as follows:-

Props   -  Alexander and Slipper

Hooker -   Faingaa

Locks  -    Pyle  and Jones

Loosies -   Pocock, Delve and Mowen

Scrummie  -  Kingli

Flyhalf     -    Cooper

Centers   -    O'Coonor and McCade

Others     -    Speight, Ioane and Shipperley

In essence - I have five players from each of the Reds, Brumbies and Rebels and none from the Force.

My other problem is that some players may play in different positions than selected - for instance it seems to me that Kingli will not be the Rebels scrummie - but will play on the wing.   If that happens - will I get points for him at all?

The secret lies in the bench selections - I am not giving away tips on that one at all..

@mikey,

"The situation is very difficult - because there are only four teams playing in round one - and members are limited to five players per team.   The second problem is that the better players in the teams involved are bloody expensive."
welcome to the beauty of tatcics, where extra guile is required for top notch player selections, :o)

"However - in the main I only picked cheap SA players that may be in the starting line up in Round Two for the bench - to ensure that I keep within budget."
very hard to select ur bench, as u must pick players with round 2 in mind, but then also select players who will be actually picked.

"In essence - I have five players from each of the Reds, Brumbies and Rebels and none from the Force."
thats pretty smart, but some of those force loose forwards arent too bad and neither is pek cowan who with ben alexander is one of my props.
also keep an eye on j speight, with white announcing that rathbone is a certainty, either epeight or tomane will lose out as a result.
and hanso might not be starting, with saia faainga decalred fit to play. remember players in the starting 15 are just as important as players not playing.

"My other problem is that some players may play in different positions than selected - for instance it seems to me that Kingli will not be the Rebels scrummie - but will play on the wing.   If that happens - will I get points for him at all?"
yeah mikey, kingi will get ponts, no matter where he plays, all that matters is that he plays.

BTW, im glad my team could help u out, -_o
as a long time veteran of the game and given ur affinity to a few players, i am going to make a guess with three of ur bench selections,,,lambie, s du toit and p jordaan???
i would say goosen, but im sure u have heard he looks set to miss out on round 1, :o)

I am waiting anxiously for the posting of the teams - and may change some players depending on that one.  Speight is my particular problem - so I am watching that one with interest.  If he is out I will have to pick another Brumbie to replace him.    Dont like Faainga - a bloody risk insofar as cards are concerned - but may be forced into picking him.

My main problem is that if a team is weak - and I think the Force is - the good players in that team may not be performing as well as they should - hence my reluctance to pick them.

I can only say - I had Lambie on the bench - but he ruined my budget and I could not have him.   You are wrong as to Du Toit as well - he will be a definite later on I believe.   Right about Jordaan though.

Don't you think I should be on the Wallaby selection panel?   That would be the players that should be starting for the Wallabies and a few on the bench.   LOL

@mike,

considering ur flyhalf is cooper, thats a pretty smart move not putting lambie on ur bench. i hope u got some cheap newbie there and in round 2, u can just use one of ur transfers to transfer cooper out and get in somebody that u do want, but im sure ur well aware of that already, :o)

i dont like faainga either, but if he does start, u might want to get a hooker that does start over henson, as henson will score u bugger all points coming of the bench.

i use to have that view too in the first two years of fantasy rugby, but while i cant speak for testrugby, com, i know from experince that its not the case for foxsport.
pocock and oconner when he was playing for the force were huge cash cows worht of points for players who selected them. on or two of their better players wouldnt hurt at all IMO.
ive got pek cowan, toby lynn and ben mcalman in my team from the force, all three were very decent points wise for foxsport and cheap too. alby mathewson would be another good option, he was a decent points earner for the blues last few years.

"Don't you think I should be on the Wallaby selection panel?"
not with welsh representative gareth delve in ur team, but i guess he would fit in with all the NZ, zimbabwean, papua new guinean, fijian and tongan born wallaby players, LMAO, :oD

I already had to make a change - one of the Rebel players I selected is not in the starting line-up  After making the change I now have a Zero balance on my account.  Always thought I was a good budgetting man - when working considered to be one of the best in SA.  Thats bragging for you.  LOL.

Cannot finalize the Testrugby selections without the teams being announced.   Have serious budgetting problems in respect of that one at present.   Your ugent help with the teams info wll be sincerely appreciated.   I only have the Rebels team at present.

One of the chepaer players I picked for Testrugby is Ebersohn - quite a decent player and he may help in the point scoring department.

Does the cash increase at any point of time for additional player transfers, perhaps when winning matches, or does it remain the same throughout the whole season? My selection looks decent.
