Francois Steyn to miss RC for stint in Japan

Who cares?  He was piss poor this year in Super 15 this year.  The other Steyn is worse - he cannot make the starting line up of Stade Francais.    Both are useless at flyhalf and reason for the poor backline performances of the past.

 I am actually really disappointed in Frans Steyn. He has not really earned his place in the springbok setup yet and has hardly played any good games for the boks. 
Now he wants to run off to Japan again to go make a quick buck. He is more of mercenary than a rugby player.
I would not select him for the boks simply because he puts his wallet before his country.
If I was Meyer I would only select the boks for world cup if they have feature in for the boks in the last 2 years

That is a wise way to go - and then you have to weed out the players who have become worse over the past two years.   That would take car e of at least Jannie du Plessis and the useless Jacque Fourie and the under-performing Basson and Engelbrecht as well.   Add to that list Jantjies and De Jongh, as well as Bakkies Boha and Gurthro Steenkamp - and bob is your uncle - you will end up with a Sprngbok team that will produce the goods.   
I would also leave out the quasi lock Alberts from the list of loosies and if he cannot earn his place at lock - he should also to my mind be history.
Time for a thorough clean-up and we will have a functional all round Springbok team.        

 
What really cracks me up is that the likes of Fat Fransie Steyn and Hougat have both been contracted by SARU.

We have fools at the top who have no idea who our best players are. Their only interest is to collect their large salaries at month end and enforced quotas.
