......what does he add, does anybody know? I have watched a handful of his games and he hasn’t even looked Super Rugby competent.

Now wait a bit Moz. Just like Proudfoot has a few Stormers amongst the forwards, it makes perfect sense for Franco to have a backline player in the squad as proof of his coaching skills... well that might be a line of thinking. Personally I think Venter runs good lines, but that is it. Poor defender, not good ball skills and lacking some speed. Not test material, but hey, who are?

Probably right Blikkies, Franco got a vote. But now he’s on the bench backing up two really poor centres....a bit depressing because I think we have proven there is no plausible upside to these three. At least if Rohan or Vorster were there, there would be a bit of the unknown. Although sadly I think your comment about good lines but not enough speed probably also applies to Vorster....and Rohan has defensive question marks.

Mozart - you are not objective about Vorster - as per normal you are writing off players you do not like.
I think that Venter is not good enough and neither is Kriel because they are both non-thinking players who tries to be Tarzan on the field of play withoput having the physical ability to do so.   How many line breaks have they made in their careers?  Preciously few because they never learnt about running lines.

Francious Venter is a Curry Cup flat track bully. He has experience- but when the pressure is on he will revert to a one-dimensional crash ball, which will result in penalties or turnovers conceded.

Not trying to be pedantic but it is the Currie Cup, named after Sir Donald Currie who donated the cup.
