Francoius Louw

After watching the Bok/Oz game again last night I was struck by how good louw was. He i salso very fit as that last try By habana showed when Louw made a nice little break before passing to Bryan.

Vermuelen has also had a successful start to his international career. To my mind though he has not yet fully hit his straps which is hardly surprsing.

As for Louw one now wonders if he will return to the Mighty Stormers next season?  As part o the Bok set up it would be better for him to be in South frica and with a nice Bok contract he will earn well. Hopefully he will come home and assist usin  winning the Super 15 next season! As far as that is concerned all one can say with confience is that another good seaosn awaits the Mighty Stormers but one needs to really see the squad before finalising on predicted performance.

All good and well Beans, but I reckon Louw would be stupid to go back to the Stomers because with a fit Schalk Burger, Duane Vermeulen, Nick Koster, Carr, Kolisi and one or two others that escape me now, there would be too many loose forwards and not enough positions. Unless the Stormers were very unlucky regarding injuries, like last year, some very good players would spend all season warming the bench.

I do not know the exact details - but I believe Louw has an extremely lucrative contract with Bath and he would cost any SA team millions to get their hand on him.  

I always was disappointed that WP let him go when they had him on contract - but money talks and WP is not very wise on that component of the process.   It is very likely that Louw will continue with his Barh career - whilst playing for th Springboks.

Just one more thing - I saw eleswhere that Saffex now recommends him as future Bok captain.   I wonder why - is he the captain of Bath by any chance?

Bluebok exactly so. I was wondering in the same vein re Rhodes. We have Burger, Vermuelen, Elstadt, Koster, Kolisi, Carr and guys like Tyrone etc. However if burger is not going to make it and Elstadt reverts to lock maybe all those are necessary. Lock wise we have lost Quin Roux which was another bad move. We have Bekker, Eztzebeth and Elstadt and then a average palyer in Steenkamp. I suspect Elsrtadt will revert to lock or switch between the two.?

Louw would make our starting team at 6, Vermulen at 8 and Elstadt at 7. We shall have to wait and see if Burger gets back to form. Get Louw back and release a loose forward we dont need perhaps.

Mule ou please look at the direction of the hands. No need for flolouw to stop mcheating an he has never begun.  Just keep up the good work Louw - playing outstanding rugby right now.

Mike Louw went to Bishops and he appears to be an intelligent type. I dont think he is the Bath captain. Ou snapster has had the good sense to realise his error. Hahhahahahaha

Talking of snapster its funny to see him relating the change in emphasis against Oz re running the ball all to Morne being absent. The whole team look geared for attack and were wide awake. He is overplaying one factor is the equation.

I agree Beans, It wasn't just Morne being out of the team that had them attacking the way they did. The team just gelled better in my opinion. I still think Goosen is the better player and that he should continue to start for the Boks, but for me the big difference on Saturday was our forwards domination and the weakend Auzzie team that maybe made the Boks look a little better than they are.

Regardless of game plan quibbles there was real attacking intent and quick distribution of the ball. 

Now what will be interesting to see is how Meyer will adjust for the abs - the mark of an astute coach. I think he plans to tighten up but not go completely into conservative grear.

It should be very interesting to watch the tactical strategies play out.
