The last half-decent game Steyn had was about 6 years ago  before he got as fat as can be.   After 2012 - when he returned from France he was so fat that he could never perform.   He was atrocious in all his matches on Super Rugby level and even Meyer would not select him for the Springbok team.
So remember him as a good player ten years ago - forget him as a Springbok for the present.

I was hopeful with Allende prior to his injury but he has been woeful like most since. I don't believe he has necessarily overstayed his welcome but he should be on notice. It's just so hard to tell with the lack of game plan and BS coaching. Having said that Allende's defense is pi55 weak for his size.

He has had some really bad records in Super 15.   In 2014 he lost possession 32 times - an all time record for any player ever in that competition.    In 2014 he was rated as the 32nd player playing at center.    That was the pits.    Incidentally he was rated as the 252nd player in that competition - does that not tell you anything?  
As CC said - he will never be in the Rugby Hall of fame - he is too poor to play on international level.
