His ankle tap saved a certain try, however, he was covering his own charge-down.

I believe he had two charge downs, and this proved that he is not a backup flyhalf. He is too big, it has always been a weakness of his game and he is slower now. Both Elton Jantjies and Steyn will have to be on the bench.

His long kick today looked good. It was a pity he wasn't given a run at 15 because his long raking kicks are very good for a territory game, and playing the game inside the opposition half.

It looks like Delande will be the starting inside centre, with Steyn on the bench. Carthuizen is one of the players that will not be flying.

It is too late for Willemse to be tested at 12.

Fransie was as expected a total liability today,

Brilliant ankle tap by Frans, showing Allende the value of not giving up.....as Allende did in the Goodhue try.

Steyn showed a lack of pace. Not a certainty but we shall see on Monday.

Yeah I have to agree. We're not blessed with fast 12s, but a few incidents in yesterday's game highlighted Steyn's lack of pace. He looks a good yard or two slower still than the tortoises Damian & Andre.

Damian is not a tortoise if you are able to judge such matters. Hence his stints on the wing.

Too much propaganda against Allende but it appears folk are realizing we don't have better although I can't comment re Jan Serfontein not having seen him play.

Jan Serfontein has been out with an injury for a while now and did not play for a couple of months since the end of the 2018-19 Top 14 season.  At least he is a center - which Steyn is definitely not.

Andre doesn't have the acceleration of Damian, but for a 12 isn't especially slow. Our 12s are fine. Andre, Frans our two test quality 12s. There is quite a sharp drop after them.

What Frans showed was how slooooow and cumbersome he is. That Argie try that was reversed had poor Frans exposed in defence purely because he was not agile enough to get close to the 12 and then his attempted chase thereafter was the attempt of an old man Frans should be nowhere near the squad - that very passage of play showed why not

Kinda like Allende during the Goodhue try.....where Goodhue was a metre behind the Tractor and blew past him? Steyn's pace is a concern but Allende's problems are just an inconvenience.

Nope de Allende is young enough and has good pace. He has a spring in his step is agile and probably in his prime - something Frans was more than 5 years ago It’s madness entertaining Frans in a WC squad. That showing is the very reason Frans can’t command a starting spot at Montpellier. Rassie is a fool for not giving Frans a full game for he would then have been sorely exposed
