When I first saw him on the pitch today vs the All Blacks, I thought he was a tight forward lumbering back to get the ball and wondered where the fullback was.

Then he started popping up all over the place like chasing his own kicks. For someone of his size and age, he is faster than he looks.

His territory kicking boot reminded me of how critical he was to the 2009 Boks when they beat the All Blacks 3-0.
When he has time and space at the back, he can thump the ball backwards ensuring the Boks play the game in the opposition half.

Frans Steyn works for the Bok style of play to ensure that the game is played in the opposition half- even if he is past his prime.

He can punt or grubber into the opposition territory with kicks that roll across the floor so hard and fast they are difficult to field, and now there is the 50/22 law...

Frans kicked well for position but was exposed in general play Was too slow and lacked the agility to make a tackle then lacked the pace to get into position when we tried to attack out wide The best Frans could do was get a boot onto the pass He kicked really well though

If Vet Fransie makes a difference like he did, the AB's isn't all that.

To be fair the difference he made was with his boot They would need to be worried if he was ripping them apart with ball in hand

Frans injected competitiveness, his boot, and how about that massive tackle. Great value off the bench.

We know he can kick but the man is a liability in general play Evidenced by his inability to get into position to make a tackle and then being far too slow to join the line in a break out attack, best he could do was get his hoof to it

You are absolutely clueless Dave….Frans was the difference between winning and losing. Your bias renders your comments totally stale and predictable . Might as well post them before the game.

Suck on that you pathetic old queer:

Frans Steyn: 8

Came on at halftime for Willie le Roux at fullback, and made a telling impact with his big kicks downfield and brought the necessary solidity at the back. Produced some hefty touch-finders – including the late penalty to put the Boks back on attack inside the All Black 22, which led to the victorious Jantjies penalty.

Ah right Moz and yours are not when it comes to de Allende, PSDT, Lood, Kitshoff, Malherbe, Kolisi or Mostert I am spot on about Frans - he missed a tackle because he could not get into position to make it and he was too slow to join the line On the day these issues did not cost us, Frans’s contribution with the boot was good My issue is that he should not be in the match 23 for the simple reason he is not the player he used to be. He is too slow and lacks agility

Pervert had Frans finished in 2014…..some bull dust theory that his knees were gone. Here we are 7 years later and Frans and Vermeulen another player he had finished 4 years ago, lead us to victory. And instead of fading away in total humiliation, he is revving up again on this thread.

No - because you are a coward making statements you cannot substantiate by fact.  I looked at the stats and the BS is as per normal totally delusional.   .
