 Frans hast played 15 in a while Dikkes,so we cant really rate him against any of these.Never mind,guess you had a brain fart,its ok it happens.Just seem to happen with you a lot.

 Tin soldier I know you are too thick to comprehend the obvious so the less I say the better for dealing with pretenders is never a productive way to pass the time.

 I am afraid Kolbe will not last in the 15 man format of the game.  He is just too small to be effective and is going to be found out in defense.  I will turn 1 nd 2 aroud and wait for Super 15 next year to see how he shapes up.
Willie had one rather poor game in all the tests he played in and now suddenly he needs to eb replaced - I find that rather funny.

Kriel looked like an exciting runner in the only game I've seen him so far, but that's not enough to make a call for me. So I'll go with Steyn because he was more than decent when he played there. Not too excited about the rest of them. SP Marais shows glimmers of promise but he's too much of a mixed bag at the moment. Coetzee seems to have a good allround set of skills and a good rugby brain as well.

Yes, I'm expecting a lot of opposition to Cheslin Kolbe because of his size but I think he offers enough on attack to offset any perceived defensive frailties.

Realistically, I don't expect Heyneke Meyer to pick Kolbe as the Springbok fullback because Meyer has always been a bit obsessed with size, but if it was me, I'd give Kolbe at least a few tests to prove himself.

I think the Springboks missed an opportunity with Gio Aplon and again, I'm sure that was because he was seen as a defensive weakness because he was too small but Gio was a very courageous defender and I'd back him to make a try-saving tackle ahead of Willie le Roux any day.

I am not cutting out Kolbe - but would like to see how he goes next year in Super 15.  Hpowever, I do not entirely agree with you on Aplon.  He ahd opportunities to play for the Springboks and showed zero.  Those opportunities were few - but if they come the way of players they have the limited time to stake their claims.   Must admit Aplon was always better than Kirchner - but then the latter had a Blue Bulls contract to enhance his claim.

I genuinely think Cheslin Kolbe is the best SA fullback to ever be produced after Brent Russell. Kolbe's flair and sidestepping is not the only aspect of his game it is also his ability to control the game well by kicking into space. I do see people compare Kolbe with Aplon a lot but I think he is far more unique as a player and has more to offer than Aplon partly because he is more physically stronger than Aplon was. What Kolbe has contributed in the CC, 7s and JWC is really top class but he didn't really play as well in Super 15 mainly because he was played out of position on the wing at times having said that I think we haven't seen the best of him yet at Super 15 but the best is yet to come if he continues to play at fullback. If Kolbe does not get a chance to play for the boks one day it would be a serious waste of talent.

Willie Le Roux is a colossal player that really did spark a new dimension within the springboks backline last year on the wing, he is a inspirational player for the Cheetahs and Springboks. My thoughts on a wider scale is that Kolbe does have strengths and weaknesses in his games just like Le Roux although I have seen more weaknesses in Le Roux games this year particularly in the springboks at fullback. In his recent matches this year Le Roux couldn't handle the pressure from the opposition and his tactical kicking has been poor from what I am use to seeing from a standard fullback, I can only hope that he does improve on the issue. To conclude I think Kolbe is a better fullback at this stage but Le Roux is a better winger from what I've seen.

I would rate them as follows:-
Willie, Kriel, Coetzee, Taute and Visser.

 Willie, Kolbe, Kriel, Lambie, Taute, Beyers, Marais, Coetzee, Visser and finally Frans Steyn.

Gotta say i am surprised by the love Kolbe is getting on here.
You guys really rate him that highly? Not dissing, just sorta surprised. 
It just worries me when they are that small. 
Can we all agree that Willie is granite under a high ball...most solid i have seen, since probably for ever!?

 Sorry I differ from you. My opinion on the criticism Kolbe often gets about size is that it doesn't play a big part of a deficiency because he has ways to counter it time and time again. Cheslin Kolbe's body physique and strength is good enough to compete at test level, the size of a player is not relevant when there is strength. Gio Aplon is a player that was more skinny, he didn't have a good body physique with not much strength which is why he failed to impose himself at test level, Kolbe is not the same.

How can you compare those players, if they haven't even played at the same level... Someone who performs well at CC level against the queens is not a test player because of that one good performance.

There is a huge difference between CC level and test rugby!

I see there are quite a few of these stupid threads, but let's just take this list as example. What have the above players proved in the S15 up to now? Nothing!

Even someone like SP Marais admitted that he playing very poor rugby at the moment and is trying hard to figure out how to fix it is on this list? Others are merely staring at lowers levels and other have already proved to be failures. Then why the h3|| would one include them on the list?

As I said, one of a number of stupid, idiotic and not very well though out threads.
