Last week we had the aging strongest tighthead in rugby Castrogiovanni pitted against the new king of looseheads the rock Ayerza. Or maybe not the rock, because Ayerza is usually in motion, going forwards and inwards.

Last Saturday though, there seemed to be nothing happening....the two behemoths strained against each other and neither yielded an inch. But if you observed the deck a small hillock rose behind Castro's feet. The earth literally moved.

The epic nature of this battle was neatly  illustrated when Castro left and Ayerza immediately put the substitute for Italy to the sword.

Fun stuff, and not to be outdone, this week the Italians get the mighty Coenmeister..

The above is slightly flawed becauseit left ou some appropriate deatails.   The most spetacular forward motion of Ayersa was against our very own Jannie.   Janne went backwrds faster than a modern jetliner.
Fun stuff - Jannie luckily was injured so another disgrace is not on this coming weekend.
Poor Coenie - he has the incredible hulkless Matfield to support him in scrumming - and that would even be funnier.

Castro is not the great scrummager he once was, at least that's what a friend of mine whose rugby mind is decent say's.

 Shezza
I seriously believe that Coenie\s nek injury caused a problem forhim in scrumming  and that it may have to do with his psychological approach to scrumming.   I a gree he is not a freat scrummager annd issuprised by Meyer starting with him - I qould rather have seen Redelinghuys starting with Coenie coming off the bench.
But then Meyer is not known for s howing common sense - so lets see wha happens on Saturday.   If th scrumming is adisaster - I expect early benching for Coenie.

Nice thoughts OOm, but actually  Shezza is talking about Castro not Coenie.. ...I'm surprised to hear that Shezza, although to be honest I haven't seen him for quite a while.
