If anyone wanted to know what's caused the decline of our rugby I would have to say the blame lies with SARU and our coaches at both national and franchise level. SARU does nothing to advance rugby, Pieter De Villiers appointment as coach of the national team was a typical example of how useless they are, the Southern Kings is another, all of our "coaches" since re-admission have been pretenders, what's worse is that they hung onto them at franchise level for decades before replacing them with more pretenders. Harry Viljoen, Markgraaf, Straueli, Mallett, Carel, at national level,shame, the list just doesn't end. Hell, imagine appointing Jihadi Beeno as a coach at any level ....well that's what's happened to our rugby. We've become a malignant comedy.
