Gatland calling up reinforcements...

...Only hours after AB coach Hansen suggested that Gatland would call in reinforcements comes the announcement...
..Warren Gatland is set to radically overhaul the Lions team to play the Chiefs in Hamilton next Tuesday by calling up half a dozen players or more from the Welsh and Scottish squads which are touring in the vicinity..
This is in keeping with his stated intention to ring-fence the chosen match-day 23 to face the All Blacks in the first test at Eden Park a week hence.

The Lions also have an injury problem with Owen Farrel being withdrawn from the Maori ABs game and being replaced by Dan Biggar on the bench...

Looks like the All Blacks have planted spies in the Lions camp, just like the fiasco in Australia.....

 ...well Hansen was half right... Asked if Gatland would bring over players from the UK, Hansen said: "I guess so I don't know where else he is going to get them from."

When it was put to him that Gatland had already picked a number of Kiwi-born players - the likes of Ben Te'o and Jared Payne - Hansen made a jibe about Gatland leaving England's Rotorua-born hooker Dylan Hartley out.

"He didn't pick enough of them I'd suggest."

Fact is, New Zealand rugby has benefited from immigration more than any other country. Not saying its a bad thing, especially for the players involved and even for Samoa/Tonga/Fiji rugby whose players get the benefit of playing in the most professional, well organized rugby environment. Still, New Zealand has gained a massive talent edge through it. Big powerful fast players with great hands perfectly suited to the NZ style of play.

Should most of the Boks be playing for England or Holland then ?All those players have been born in NZ have NZ parents or are NZ citizens who played all their rugby in NZ.

I think that it does not matter what someone heritage is, if they were born in that country- they are from that country. Or if they lived in the country since they were young. 
Poaching is what Ireland, England do by stealing players that are actually from other countries like CJ Stander, and the half-cousin of Fat Strauss Adrian.
