Was trying to watch the stormers last night and I was pulling my hair out with all the basic handling errors.
It is like they think it is touch rugby and just want to step and throw the ball in the air.
After 4 weeks on tour, have the learned nothing. You can't play sunshine rugby up north where it is much colder and the ball become harder to control, not to mention the hands don't work so well.
The number one culprit was Gelant. Yet again, he is the single person I would blame given how many times he spilled the ball or threw it away. Running with the ball in one hand, taking contact or just trying to be too smart. He made one good pass to Nel to break the line and that was about it.
The rest was a bloody nightmare. Wonder if he is trying to hard, but you can't play like that.
If you compare him to Willie, he has more pace, but Willie glides onto the ball and very good at drawing the defence to get the wingers away. Willie has fantastic vision, although, his lack of pace caught up with and also guilty of errors.
But this Gelant made so many basic errors.
What are the Stormers thinking. Last night should have been a W only for them to give Cardiff confidence
Time to rethink their strategy when they go North
