How on earth was he allowed back on the field? Irresponsible. Not only towards the player but also to all those young players watching. All it did was reinforce that a macho image with complete disregard for long-term personal health is required to play rugby. Have no problem with players playing through a twisted ankle, broken finger etc but the stuff with the head shouldn't be messed with. Most of your life is after your playing days are over and a healthy mind is vital. A concussion will heal fully, just like any other injury it takes time. The NFL is facing multiple multi-million dollar lawsuits over the disregard for players health when it comes to the long-term effects of concussion and some parents are not allowing their kids to play football as a result. IRB would do well to sit up and take notice because if the same stigma develops around rugby it would definitely hurt the game.
