With Ox out injured, Kitshoff starts with the impressive Gerhard Steenkamp of the Bulls brought into the Bok squad His call up has been long overdue - big physical guy who is good in the scrums and a really good ball carrier Great selection, just a pity the same light is not switched on for the likes of Gelant, Jason Jenkins, Elrigh Louw and Dan du Preez

Agree, what was the point of capping Muchunu when he should have been in the squad

Impressive stats too. How on earth is he not a bok yet? Bulls are upping their recruitment during the off season, they have now brought in Louw, Akker Van Der Merwe. Along with Grobbler and ever improving Jan Hendrik Wessels. Here is hoping the Bulls can dominate the foreign teams like they did in the first season and push for an all South African Semi Final next season.

Very happy about Gerhard….very good player….it’s a pity that these kaliber players only get a chance if someone gets injured.

Sounds really promising. Our front row is looking stale. We need to inject some life into it. Especially given that New Zealand found a solid combination last year.

For me Kittshoff has been our number 1 loosehead for a number of years. Beast was good, but I think Kittshoff surpassed him, but never got the start that he deserved.

I like Ox, very good scrummager and plays well around the edge of the rucks not to mention decent ball carrier and got some pace on him,  but he can't play more than 30 min. Kittshoff can play 90 min and have the same impact.

But I still think Kittshoff should have started more games and played for longer. But now that we have this 50% affirmative action nonsense, good props just don't get a look in.

This bloke should have been capped 2 years ago and been part of the system.

Instead, we have to make do with injury prone Treeevvvaa, whose own club in France hardly plays him.

We do have an opportunity to judge our props, especially during the derby matches. Nothing better to see a scrum battle and who comes out on top.

2nd area I would look at is to see how they play against other internationals.

That said, front row play is a dark art and not many knows what goes on in there. Most of the times the refs don't even get it right.

It also doesn't help if you don't have strong lock other. Remember that prop from the Bulls, I think his name was Keith Mews, played for Namibia in the end. But even he stated that any prop would look good if you had Bakkies behind you.

So, if you have Orrie, Mostert or Nortje behind you, know chance.

Kits never cam close to Beast in any aspect of play. Kits hasn't built on his 2018 to justify being a permanent starter. At best, our front row has been pallet swaps.

Agreed King Kitshoff has been a class act for the Boks, too close to call between him and Beast but if pushed I’d go with Kitshoff Big fan of Ox Nche as well, we have two of the best looseheads in the game I’m Gerhard Steenkamp, we have a player who can match these two We have some real class and clout at prop. Malherbe is the unsung hero of the Bok side, possibly our best tighthead ever In Koch, Thomas du Toit and Wilco Louw we have some serious backup Nyakane was in this category but age has caught up with him We have so much class at hooker as well in Marx, Mbonambi, Dweba, Aker and Grobelaar

Beast is an all time great; Kitshoff is a prop. If Malherbe could replicate his 2018, I'd say he was one of our best tightheads.

So, if we listen to Saddex, our front row is made up of all time great players. It's like listening to an over-emotional child.

Don’t forget Os Du Randt also a great….Malherbe is a extremely good tight head….can’t really think of anyone that can topple him as a Great Bok….Besides Kobus Visagie and Jannie du Plessis from those days….Nowadays I think Wilco has got the goods to get up there….that is if Rassie shows intrest and up till now, not much….Thomas tank is also a candidate…. Frans is a very technical and strong TH + his Defence is solid…A real stalwart just like Franco : )

The thing about Kits and Malherbe, they are not dominant scrummagers or carriers. Malherbe can be good defensively, when he wants to show. It was the phase play that made these two so good in 2018. They were neutral in the scrum, but their cleaning, and the speed to the breakdowns and defensive work was excellent. Individually, they are not all-time great. Kits is a long way off of our best looseheads, and Malherbe is not a top 10 Bok tighthead.

Visagie was a monster. Perhaps our best. We had some great scrummagers back in the day!

The Beast was a way better scrummager than Kitshoff. Marx is top notch. As a front row last year they did very little. For example, they never troubled the Irish. So much so that Harrassmiss dropped Marx and Kitshoff to the bench for the French test.

Wrong we dominated the Irish scrum - there is no dropping Kitshoff and Marx, they mostly play off the bench for political reasons Beast was no better a scrummager than Kitshoff - pretty par in my books Two of the best we have had along with Os

Doos no dumb fuck is stupid enough to conclude one player determines the outcome of a rugby game Fuck you are stupid If that was the case we would have to say the same about PSDT and Faf
