The really scary thing is if Roberts can't be stopped by Serf, we have no centre on the bench to do a stopper job.

If Jannie pulls a calf muscle in the second minute....Coenie will be our tighthead for 78 minutes.

If Morne is concussed trying to stop Roberts after Serf misses him, Goosen is our flyhalf

At some stage we could have a line up of Goosen, Serf, JP and Mvovo. Man that's terrifying. HM has far too many of these ordinary young chaps in his lineup...and players out of position!

Are you serious.  With Francois Steyn's defensive record he had no chance of stopping Roberts - Serfontein had a better chance.  And is Serfontein missed him to claim that Morne would even try is a joke beyond belief.  Morne the worst defending flyhalf in SA.  What is trrifying is Jannie, Steenkamp, Botha and Matfierld - that really is terrifying.
It would eb a hell of a lot better of Jannie, Steenkamp,  Botha and Matfield as well as Morne is replaced early = then we may just have a chance of surviving and be victorious,
Imagin - first scrum - penalty to Wales.  Second scrum - penalty to Wales.  Third scrum - penalty to Wales - fourth scrum - penalty to Wales - Jannie carded.  Fifth scrum penalty to Wales - Gurthro carded.   Repeat at every scrum thereafter.  It won't be terrifying - it would be a comedy show.

Our scrum will be fine on Saturday....you heard it here first. And don't bother with the grade school insults, let the facts decide.

The ONLY chance the Boks have of beating Wales is if that useless Morne Steyn is injured in the opening minutes and replaced by a real rugby player in Goosen.

That would be closely followed by the need to get Coenie on ahead of Jannie, Beast ahead of useless Steenkamp and Lood ahead of geriatrics Bakkies or Matfield......failing which we have no chance in hell.

Well lets see Goosen is playing for the Cheetahs right? So we have the Cheetahs playing 14 games and winning 3 for 21% win ratio. But it gets worse Watts started in three of those games and they won one. Exclude those three games and Goosen steered them to victory in 2 out of 11 games....for an 18% win ratio.

And you think the guy who has an 18% win ratio....worse than his replacement....is the guy who is going to help us win. Hahaha...you are a tonic Dave.

its great seeing lood and hendricks get their first test caps, i rate both very highly,

@mozter,

i reckon roberts is going to be in for a huge shock if he tries to out muscle serfontein.
serfontein may not look it, but he packs insane power for that frame, just watch the highlanders vs bulls match for some nice displays of his power.

if anything should happen to jp, then why not send habana in the centers???
hes played their before so coupled with his rugby prowess he will be far from a fish out of water and he can give the welsh something different and potentially dangerous to ponder, leading to some indecision??? food for thought aye.

I have never met a bigger bunch of naysayers in my life.

Guys come on.
Sure we don't all agree on selection (me included), but come on.
Each coach has their own methodologies and ways in their madness.

Remember, when HM took over at the bulls, he brought in Anton Leonard from the eastern cape region. we all thought he was over the hill, but instead brought the bulls towards their most successful period.

I really don't agree with HM's methods at times, but I prefer leaving the decisions up to the coach. He obviously has plans, ideas and specifics which he looks for when selecting players. He may have felt the need to have a lineout specialist over another ball carrying lock...
He may have felt that we have enough bulk amongst the forwards, so by picking Vic, he wouldn't lose too much power, but would gain an advantage at lineout time.

When JJ was selected, we all threw a hissy fit because his form wasnt great. But when he picked JP at 13 last week, we threw another fit...

Guys, like we are all coaches, so is HM...
Like we all have our own selections for our dream team, so does HM

Let him select his team, the same way that we all pick ours.

He is winning games coaching the boks..... we have not won one between all of us.

Thats just my 2 cents.

Watts is average and Goosen's credentails have stuff all to do with the Cheetahs fortunes. N o I am talking about Goosen that only needed a few minutes on the field against the World 15 to breeze past a few defenders and score a try.......a real playmaker unlike the pathetic Morne who was by far the worst Bok on the park

Our scrum will be OK on Saturday?   How will that be achieved with Jannie, Steenkamp, and the other geriatrics being responsible for scrumming.   The failed last Saturday with Beast being the better scrummer - now the Toulouse failure is starting in Beast place.   and the rest of the comedy gang of showponies  is still around.  Day-dreaming again?  Let me be blunt - it will be a disaster.
They better hope there are not too many scrums and that they do not give any away.  Better to kick the ball away in the hope there will be line outs - which will also be won by the Welsh with Matfield hoping balls will not come his way.   Wonder how long it will be before he starts shifting from the middle of the line out to the front - ie to work out which of the Welsh line out jumpers are the less competitive and then position himself opposite that jumper and not take the middle of the line out position associated with 5 locks.

Mozart cannot take it that his favourite Morne Steyn has been shit poor in the tests last year against the All Blacks and was shunned by Stade Francais.  He then took out insurance by proposing Frans - the scheming contract breaker - as flyhalf.
He must lie and scream about Goosen.  After every game Goosen played in Super 15 - he made dramatic announcements about Goosen being injured.  All lies and fabrications and the only problem Goosen had was concussion - never a career- threatening injury.
Mozart hates all players threatening his favourites in respect of Springbok selection and his endless lies about them is best ignored.   In respect of Goosen it soon became evident that he was hoping that Goosen be injured so as to take him out of contention - by far too serious a threat to his beloved Morne.

The irony is there is absolutely no consensus among the nay sayers...except they despise HM. But what they don't get is their theories are pure Destroyli. And what did that produce except Kamp Staaldraad and a QF humiliation by NZ. The poor dumb buggers can't even recognize their own theories in practice.

It's a feeble attempt at diverting our focus from the aged.

If the Welsh can't beat us tomorrow then it would perhaps be a good idea they consider playing 2nd tier tests against the likes of Japan and Fiji in future.

They have more to lose with a loss to our pensioners than we do. We can at least upgrade our side from the current feeble and frail  pensioners to top notch world beaters.

I have confidence in Serfontein standing up to Roberts. He should have been selected ahead of Fat Fransie right from the start.

There are absolute consensus - we do not despise Meyer - we despise his selections.
All agree that even though Goosen was in a team with a low win ratio - Morne Steyn was in a team where he could not make the starting line up and was utterly useless even when he came off the bench.
We agree that Steenkamp is a joke selection - we agree that Jannie is not the answer as the other prop.
We agree that Botha was useless in the test against Scotland last year and iffy in the French test.  We also agree that he was seriously deficient in scrumming and played for 15 minutes last Saturday and that he then vanished from the scene until he was replaced.
We agreed that the same happened to Matfield and that he was inefficient in the line outs by -
*  starting to change his jumping position in the line outs from the middle to the front trying to find the weakest line out jumper of the opposition side;
*  call the ball to go to other line out jumpers and not him; and
*   was average in line out jumping,
aside frm being shit poor in scrumming.
We all agree that Alberts was invisivle for 90% of the game and was loafing most of the time.
In essence we all agree that all of Morne Steyn, Stenkamp. Jannie du Plessis, Botha, Matfield, Alberts and Botha are shit selections and there are better younger players that should play.
The suddenly the destroyli argument.  The answer is destroyli did not go back to the 1995 WC winners and tried to recover most of them to play in 2003 after the majority lost their gloss in 1999.   Get it?   There is a time when some team rebuilding is necessary - but team rebuilding is not the key using players who failed in 2010 and 2011.  What will make them acceptable in 2014 when they are way over 30 years of age already and was part of a failing team three and four years ago already?
You constantly brought up 2007 - but keep quiet about 2010 and 2011 and when cornered start ,moaning about disrespect for Springbok heroes.   What an old fossilled approach to rugby thinking.
We shall see who is correct on Saturday - whether the geriatrics selection is correct or not?   My own feeling is that Meyer has made a huge mistake and that it will come through clearly over the next two weeks.

The use of the bench will be very important. Get Burger, Beast and Loodt on to bolster the pack. Jannie is weary so keep a close watch on him. Coenie had better be up to it!
A cameo role of about 20 minutes for young Goosen?
