is a Bok flyhalf in the making according to his coach Swys De Bruin. Says the kid has all the attributes to go all the way and that it's just a matter of time before he dons the green and gold. He is slotted to play the full 80 minutes in this afternoons game against the Chiefs with that finger-bun Jantjies on the bench. Some might think it a baptism of fire but not so according to coach De Bruin, says the kid will handle the pressure no problem at all. Well Hallelujah for two reasons,  firstly at long last the Boks will have a dinky die flyhalf instead of an inside centre like flyhalf playing the role and secondly it speeds up the departure of Jantjies. Haven't we all had a gutful of that little turd!?

Must admit I'm very excited to see Lombard play.

No - I do believe he is better than Jantjies though but that set the bar very low.

Who exactly is setting the bar low?

I'm expecting a better game from the Lions today mainly due to the improved loose trio.

Hopefully Lombard grabs this opportunity with both hands and keeps the useless Jantjies benched for the rest of the season.

Denny using Jantjies is the bench mark is setting the mark low.

... there must be another term one can use for Jantjies ... as a bench stands a little high off the ground for him to set anything decent ...

The less we see of him the better. I think I can endure seeing him come on in the last 5 minutes of each match.

Jantjies get a bad rap here. The guy is a respectable flyhalf so could this Jantjies bashing please cease. Get some balance oaks!

Jantjies has made more semis and finals than any other bok 10 contender. Not much one can say now is there...

Ja but then he gets overwhelmed by the big occasion.

Jantjies for all his experience has never imposed himself on a game. He is another safe/nothing player, there to pass the ball ......period. And he blunders, like earlier today, as an example the Chiefs second try came off a kick that should have cleared the stadium, instead it landed 10 meters away in the hands of a Chiefs player resulting in a try.........another schoolboy error.....this from a Bok flyhalf. The good things he does is outnumbered by the bad things, and in between he does nothing....safe/nothing.

I thought for a 21year old Lombard had a good game. Bad luck would have it that he couldn't see out the end of the game but given his youth and inexperience, I'm inspired. He has natural speed, takes on the defence, has good hands and saved a certain try when running down the ball carrier.

Lombard, like Swys says, has enormous talent and potential, watching him today you wouldn't know he's a mere 21 year unless someone told you...and wait on, it was his first start and that on foreign soil.
