I have never seen so many cards handed out in all the time I've been following the game. I've never gone into tests expecting multiple yellows and the potential for reds. My expectation for the Bok game are two yellows and a potential red for repeat offences. It's quite strange, given that rugby has never been more soft. Is this another step in the agenda to pussify men?
Giving Refs A Red
Both the yellows were unintentional.
You are hardly going to deliberately bumb heads. Giving Curry a red was absurd.
Rassie was right to call out this protected class of people. Refs need to get refs themselves. That includes cheats on the toucine who don't see things right in front of them and FMO cheats.
Follow the money.
Three yellow cards in the Chile vs Japan test. It's a guarantee we'll see cards in the Bok game too. I have never felt a cycle of rugby be as laboured, dull, devoid of quality or entertainment as I have this one. What an anticlimactic WC this far.
Should have been a yellow for Kriel but the TMOs don't don't fire so early on in a game.
So Tom Curry gets a six week ban down to three reduced to two if he goes to tackle school.
Meanwhile, all other transgressors get away without any sanctions whatsoever.
Disgraceful from WR.
The ref, was poor in the Fiji vs Wales game, and is even accused of bias against Fiji by former Welsh great rugby players. It was sickening to watch the Welsh penalties mount up (4 in four minutes) and no yellow card. Congrats to Fiji and Wales for a very entertaining game though. I especially liked seeing Fiji play, they have improved a lot since the last RWC.
English referee Matt Carley has faced accusations of bias towards Wales, particularly for a period of play where the official gave four penalties in four minutes and no card. Andrew Trimble, Alun Wyn Jones and Rob Kearney support those claims.
It was appalling officiating in that match.
