I think that the Junior Boks had a very good game - but there are three very bad players in the team that specilaized in poor play. I identified them earlier and I think that we can be competitive against the Junior All Blacks provided these three are either out of the team or the ball is to be kept away from them at all costs - because they are guaranteed to hand over the ball to the Junior All Blacks.
The one is the full back who tried to make some runs - but every time it happened there was a turnover. Really he is useless in the extreme. The second one is the number 8 - he specializes in handovers as well. The worst of the three was Jantjies - when he came on. He really is clueless and his speciality is missing goal kicks - and handling errors. All three are really problematic.
What is going on with Liebenberg - from what i have seen - he really is not up to standard. Maybe if they play him at no 8 he will be a bit better - as a flank he is poor.
We have a number of problems with injuries as well. Howard is out of the WC and Jordaan went off early. Hopefully he will be back by Friday. If Sma;ll-Smith is out as well, the solution would be to play either Jordaan or Van Wyk as no 13. We must hope that Pollard last the whole game - to bring on Jantjies would be a disaster. The best way to escribe him is that he is clueless - end of story.
If Jordaan is fit - they should play him at full back - I have no problem with the wings and Ruhle was very good. If Jordaan and Small-Smith can play on Friday - I would put Van Wyk on the one wing and Jordaan at full back - he cannot be worse than Leyds. Otherwise - if Small-Smith is out - we will have to retain the wings and play Van Wyk at 13.
In any event we should be able to give the Junior All Blacks a run for their money.
I am very proud of the guys, they played fantastically well. There were so many times during the second half where I thought one of pack would snap at the off the ball antics of Pablo Matera. But, they finished the game maturely and without any incidents. They will need to step it up for the Junior All Blacks on Firday and I wish them all the best!!!
