According to a report on News 24 Goosen underwent reconstructive surgey on his knee and will be out of rugby for the next 6 to 9 months.

I am not in any way knowing about medical issues - but I have my doubts about this injury.  How can an agile youngster cause that serious an injury by slipping while he is practicing goal kicks?   I suspect that there ws a previous deficiency that got aggravated by the slip and fall.   Be it as it may apparently the specialist think that the operation was a success and that it will no impede his future career as a player - espcially since he is only 20 years of age.

I think Goosen is seriously in need of adding some muscle to reduce injury dangers and hope he does so in the interim.  He should not play again until next year and use the period to up his weight and esecpially his muscle strength  and start playing again in January-February 2014.

Very bad news! I hope it is just a rumour and he is able to recover a lot quicker than 6-9 months. I really rate this kid, and just wish he could get enough quality game time to prove how good he actually is. I hope his recent injuries are just bad luck and not a long term thing.
