....bit of a blow for the Goosen fans like Tokkie, who also deny the role of the boot. But Goosen is right, the winner of the kicking duel usually wins the match....just look at the Super 15 final where Barret kicked much more shrewdly than Jantjies..
'believes the side that wins the kicking battle is likely to emerge victorious in this Saturday’s Test between the Springboks and Argentina. CRAIG LEWIS reports from Nelspruit.

Goosen is set to start at fullback this weekend in one of five expected changes to the starting lineup, with the 24-year-old returning to the Bok side for the first time since 2014.

During Tuesday morning’s training session on the outer fields of the Mbombela Stadium, Goosen looked comfortable and confident as he slotted into the fullback berth as the Boks ran a few match practice drills against members of the Pumas side.

The distance he gets on his kicks was a noticeable feature, and this right-footed strength is sure to aid the Boks’ territorial game, and particularly their exit plays.

"Goosen looked comfortable and confident as he slotted into the fullback berth as the Boks ran a few match practice drills against members of the Pumas side." Haha this sentence has me very confused for a moment.

Looking forward to seeing this talented pla yer again. He was no slouch on attack either. Trust he has filled out a bit and can put in solid tackles.

Just hope the weed doesn't tear a hammie getting off the bus again.
That last step is a doozy.

One of the things which lost the RWC semi was the poor distance of our clearing kicks....Jantjies has a pop gun, Goosen is there to provide some range.

If all you want is some chump to thump it down field, which by the way goes well with the "kick it aimlessly away" game plan then perhaps Fat Fransie would have been a better option.
