This kid comes on. Makes a tough first kick and sews up the bonus point with a 60m kick. Marvellous. And when last did you see a South African pivot with the pace to score in the corner. This kid will be our 10 within a year if he stays injury free.

This was a telling game though. The WP Nel/Connie Oosthuizen supporters can't have enjoyed the scrums. These are young props with great attitude, but they aren't strong enough to mix it with the big boys. Kitshoff is a better bet.

The SBW detractors must also be a little embarrassed after some brilliant play from him and the Chiefs backline....great athletes.

The game did hinge on another of those frustrating Kaplan calls.....the fact that Brussouws shoulders were in contact with the Chief did not mean he wasn't supporting his body weight. In the end though the Chiefs brilliantly exploited the Cheetahs outside/in defence and always seemed likely to win.

I thought him and Johnson coming on were great tactical substitutions by a great coach! When SBW stepped Daniller's on the outside to score, Daniller seemed mesmerised by something else upfield!

If I compare Goosen with Steyn - Goosen gets nine out of ten and Steyn one out of ten.   Goosen is a real fly half - an extremely effective link with the outside players and he can kick as well.   Steyn is a poor link player and has a tendency to miss crucial kicks.

Now lets get to another option.    In the case of Lambie I would still like to see him at full back and Goosen at flyhalf - that combination would be deadly from a line break perspective.

Clevermike, what about Joe Pietersen at fullback?

Hakwa I am a Joe fan..... a real rugby player. But Lambie proved he has the nerve in the RWC QF......he remains my first choice at 15.

Goosen should be the Bok 10 now.

Coenie had a great game and nothing wrong with his scrumming at all. One has to remember that the Cheetahs were without Strauss at 2 and have no locks to sing about. The Chiefs have a massive pack, notably their 20 year old tighthead at 134kg. So if one puts all this into persective, the Cheetahs pack did ok.

Kitshoff is great, hell he has a 925 kg pack to ply his trade in, we can say the same for Coenie - its called perspective

 mozart,

Agree with your selections for #10 and #15.

The local coaches should be requested (instructed) to play key SA national players in the positions that they will play in for the national side.

Plumtree should be forced to play Lambie at #15 end of story.

Send Viljoen back to Gruiqas and spend that money in securing Goosen at #10 for the Sharks.
