....and perhaps the Stormers, Habana excepted, need chasing lessons. So many kicks all seemingly gobbled up by Derick Barnes who responded with clever angled rolling kicks. Slightly less weight on the ball using the ground and the touchline would have made more sense. it was painful to watch.

My impression of the Tahs though, is that they are physically imposing. So many big athletic strong guys, why they haven't done better is a mystery. I haven't seen Benn Robinson on the receiving end since his early days....he worked Harris a bit and Kitshoff also struggled. Etzebeth and Elstadt were our best forwards, but Elstadt missed a poor tackle for the Tahs first try.

In the backs Grant had a fine game apart from his tactical kicking, the Stormers centres were not great......but de Jongh did show how to drop Rocky on the charge. Pietersen and Habana had fine games. That bit of cover defending by Habana and the return kick were pure class.

I think Pietersen may actually be the best fullback in the country. He's a small man, but strongly muscled....the way he breaks tackles and keeps possession in traffic is excellent and he was decisive in scoring. If we play Lambie elsewhere, I would look no further.

Mozart - could not sum up the game better than you did.   I think you were maybe a bit haarsh on Etzebeth - I thi nk he was the standout player amongst the forwards of the Stormers and deserve the Man of the Match award.   The best back line player was Pieterse - and Mozart - I have to agree with you.  Pietersen is the best full back in SA.   I think he should be on the bench for the Springboks, becaue I suppose Meyer will selct Steyn at fly half and Lambie at 15.

Elstadt had a strong game as well.    Still think he and Etzebeth should be autimaic selections.

Disagree, you have it wrong, Kitshoff was fine, Brok Harris was the weak link. When Malherbe replaced him the Stormers scrum was fine. Ezebeth was huge and Elstadt and Kolisi were impressive. The Canadian did a solid job as well.

Grant was good, certainly a better 10 than Morne. Jean had a few moments, but nothing of note, de Jongh did stuff all. Joe was good at 15, Habana had a poor game.

Stormers were good in the first half but poor in the second, a win is a win though

I agree Sinclair was also good after a quiet start....quite impressive. Habana may not have done anything spectacular....but his cover defending, taking of the high ball without regard to safety and excellent recovery of that horrible bounce were enough for me.

Etzebeth is the new Bakkies. Great ball carrier and enforcer of note. Elstadt is shaping up to be a great number seven, but needs to be played off the bench for the Boks to blood him in to the test scene. Benn Robinson gave Brok a scrumming lesson and I would be worried if I was AC. Malherber definitely the better option at tighthead. Dejongh has a high work rate, but I feel for him cos Devilliers is not the sort of 12 who gets the backline going, so Dejongh always has to feed off scraps. I still believe he is a great 13 who straighens, gets over the advantage line and has a great step. Habana's experience and ball skills are really starting to show and he will definitely start in the 11 jersey for the Boks. Peterson is great, but I worry about his size come test time, though he does deserve a chance to see how he performs at test level.

At this stage, I wouold agree that Duvenhage ans Grant's tactical kicking could be better. I need to however state, that we don't have a better tactical fullback then Joe. Hell is kicking is top notch. Even with barnes quitly dictating terms Joe did not sit a foot wrong and had a brilliant game at that back.
