Howard did well and the combination with De Allende - who had a top class performance wwhich helped Howard a lot - worked out very well. The Stormers problems were their tight five and their loosies were also poor. The result was that their backline saw very little in the form of good balls - buyt when they did they were good enough.
Despite all the negatives normally written by you Van Aswegen provided a very good service to the backline and he also had a good performance.
There was no questions about the backline performance of WP - other than with Kolbe - who should never be played in the 15 man game at all. He is better in the 7's.
I rate Jacques Du Plessis as well - he had one particularly good run with ball in hand especially. However, in essence I believe he should play at lock and not at 7 so lets see how he develops in future.

I am in agreement as to your latest remarks. What happened yesterday really showed how pathetic Meyer's squad is in fact. That type of thing is really harmful and I do not hold out much hope for the upcoming Championship.

Meyer buggered up badly with hyis squad selection - especially insofar as the following is c0oncerned:-
* The foreihgn player mania where he select some of the worse players im,aginable;
* His crazy se;lection of locks where he came up with 2 failures that did not perform last year and the same will happen this year.
* His lunatic loosie selection - where he is adamant to play the two slowest loosies in the SH together in the team.
I would like to see what he comes up as a team selected from that squad - it can only be hilarious and self-destructive. - so wait till you see how I deal with that after the team announcement. Then you really can accuse me of bleating but I still maintain Meyer is a dolt.
