not sure if the commentator was Hugh Bladen, doesn't matter...

"They call him ESKOM because when he puts on a tackle it's lights out."

Anyone know the name of the tackler?

It's reminiscent of the Lucas Prince of Darkness jokes about the erstwhile Jaguar engine management systems. A good line, and if it was Hugh Bladen, surely a first! The only tackle I can thiink of that might have merited the comment was Kolisi on Pollard.

Could not be - Bladen as far as I remember  did not comment on the Super Rugby clash between the Bulls and the Stormers teams - must be iro a player in the Super Sport series.

I think it was Gavin Cowley in the Stormers/Bulls game referring to Van Staden. I could be mistaken about the player though.

PS: It wasn't in response to a tackle he made, just a passing comment about his nickname and how he got it.

Yep, it's Marco van Staden.
