...by a side that was more motivated, better coached, better organized and more professional all round, both individually and as a team. Forget about another shocker from Poite and individual disasters like Hougaard. The Boks failed as a team, playing an archaic brand of rugby an executing it like amateurs.

I'd put it down to us playing too much towards an expansive game plan.

I'm not sure where you see an expansive game plan in what went on out there tonight. We kept sending isolated runners into traffic, they kept getting the ball ripped off them, but we persisted with the same tired old tactic all game long. I don't know what the plan was - run into the nearest Irishman until they magically give way? Stupid rugby.
But yeah, when it did go wide we looked uncertain and incompetent. Willie, our most devastating attacking weapon at the start of the season, has now become a caricature.

We kept trying to release our backline in most of our plays, not using our forwards to bash it up. We didn't 'earn the right' to go wide and force Ireland into committing men into the breakdown.

Yeah the AB game was a dead rubber my guess is that the Boks wanted that win a lot more than the Kiwis did.
It masked t he real issues the Boks have

This was the closest I've seen to the infamous Bryce Lawrence game in 2011. Why is no-one blaming the ref now? We played stupid back then and repeated it last Saturday. I hope we have learned from it. Take the points on offer, build a bit before trying to run the opposition off their feet. Pre-e...erm.. . a, well ...just leave it at that. Well done Ire and Joe S.

I think most are running out of excuses, you can only blame the referee so many times then eventually you have to look closer to home

Our coaching must focus on giving the team structure and learning the players to play what's in front of them. I get the idea they are sent on field with specific instructions and are in deep #$%@ if they dare to deviate. I'ts not only Meyer, it's a Bok tradition since forever, with Carel Dup being the exception.
