Ex Sport 24

No, not this Kitchener fool, I actually mean someone who I have been waiting for a while to come back to the field. Ladies and Gentleman, I give you Juan Smith.

After two years on the side of the field, Juan has started training with the Cheetahs again. There was talk of him leaving for France and plying his trade there, but according to the Cheetahs Facebook page, Juan does not have a valid contract with anyone because of the uncertainty around him playing again. Since his return to the training field, the Warrior and Naka have been discussing his contract which will be finalised in the next two weeks.

Being out of the game for two years had to have taken its toll on Juan and it will obviously take some time for him to be back to the blindside flanker we all remember. I will be happy even if he only plays half a game in the beginning just to find his feet again and most importantly, share his calmness and leadership amongst the young Cheetah incumbents next to him. He will probably only play for the Cheetahs in the Super Rugby Competition, afterwards move north to France and rake in the euros before retiring.

More good news for the Cheethas!

Great player, but his best days are done - much like Jean, Habana, CJ, Steenkamp, Bakkies and co

Beeno

Juan is 31 years of age - and has not played rugby for two years.   He may come into the frame - but he would have to prove that he still has the capacity to perform.   I do not believe he should be picked on reputation - but on performance and that is where I agree with Saffex.   Major chance of being past tense.

Habana the South African Player of the Year is done? Good old Swami, wind him up and he performs on cue.

Good in the lineout, strong carrier. Not to sure if he will still have the same speed to make the cover tackles across the field. Could consider a move to lock as he is tall enough and has played lock for the boks before.

At 31, he would be 34. If in form no reason he cant make it in the next world cup
