I was wondering if the Guppy fans could give us some insight into their prospects. How does a team that can't scrum, cant win their lineout ball, and can't out compete Stephanie of all flanks, on the deck.....hope to do well. Take Stephanie he made two turnovers against the Guppies after never making two in a game the whole of last year! June 15 is the date these bait fish face the mighty Stormers at Newlands, one can only hope they provide better competition than they did at home last Saturday.

Check your facts please - Du Toiit made two turnovers in one test in the RC and he made double  the number made in tests by Louw.

Well Mike you are being very generous to the Guppies. I certainly don't recall the test you are referencing, perhaps you could post the reference for us from the source material. In any case it's heart warming to see Stormers supporters trying to make the Guppies feel better.

I forecasted on Superbru that the Stormers will win the game and identified to weaknesses in the Sharks  team - basically their props and especially Beast, as well as Esterhuizen in their backline.

Be it as it may Du Toit is 10 times a better pla yer than you credit him to be, but that sis a totally different issue.

Actually their issues were at tighthead....witness Vermaak in Cardinelli's TOW. How about that source material on Stephanie.

I am too busy to watch all the tests last yeara gain to find all the turnovers,  From notes I can remember Louw made only three turnovers last year and Du Toit made 7.   

No Mozart

Cadinelli picked Vermaak - heavens know why  - he  was penalized and struggled against Coenie Oosthuizen,    There were no problems on the Stormers Tighthead side - Malherbe dealt decisively with Beast as expected,

Taking into account that Louw only had 3 starts for the test season and 5 tests as a sub (mostly in the last 20 minutes) while Du Toit had 12 starts and 2 tests as a sub, even if your numbers can be trusted they don't say an awful lot.

How many times did Steph lose the ball in contact? Subtract that from his steals. Louw won three possessions against France alone, and I know of one against the Pumas. He also salvaged the French test and played very well against New Zealand. There is no ammunition for Mike to attack Louw as he does.

He is still rather immobile around the fringes. He misses a lot of tackles against good teams. It's something to be mindful of. He also doesn't pass much.

That’s because he is not a 7 and should not be playing there. He should be Eben’s test partner at lock. But to his credit he is doing a damn fine job at 7 despite not really being athletic enough for the role.
