Habana best Proffesional era winger?

 I would easily accept this statement, but people may be bias. Shane Williams was good but he had the fortune of playing in the Northern Hemisphere where he would frequently play lower ranking teams such as Scotland and Italy, he ended up only scoring 9 tries against the Tri-nations (2 of which were for the Lions against SA). Habana also has the greatest work rate of any back I've seen, if Meyer decides not to pick Habana when the latter goes to France I will be disappointed and even worse when he decides to retire as we will not have another winger in his degree for a looooong time.

Bryan took it to another level of professionalism with perception and reaction training. Surely one of the best competitors and bravest players.....I know of none better

 Has just plagued my mind today and yesterday, one of the misfortunes of living in Wales is that people here are incredibly biased with their national players, so I ended up having a heated discussion on how they think all Habana has is speed and is nothing compared to George North and Shane Williams. Mind there are some people who are fair, just the majority are biased!

habana is a one in a generation player. for that fact the best in a long time and his decision to move overseas makes it even more bitter to swallow.

just shows how bad alister coetzee coaching is if such a player is wasted in super rugby...his had this level of performance for the bulls every week but since joining the coetzee circus he had a very mellow career.

BTW Carpetmuncher, for me the worst form of Habana's career was his last couple of years with the Bulls and when he got to the Cape it seemed to breathe new life into his legs and his career again took off. There were many calling for him to lose his spot in the Bok team before that move

Habana is a great player but dont forget Caucaunibuca! But whats up with Habana going to France? Is he not going to be picked for the Boks if he goes to France? That doesnt make sense at all especially if he is your best wing.

Ihi, the odds that anyone that has seen Caucau in full flight forgets that is rare. He was one thrilling player to watch. The only problem with Caucau was his work ethic, off the field antics. I saw some pictures of the guy after he has stopped playing and man has he let himself go. very overwheight. 

Talent wise there are few that will come to Caucau, on that level even Haban competes. If Caucau had the commitment, professionalism and ethic the Haban has we would have spoken about him in the same breath as Haban, but the full package he doesn't get close to Habana. 

Caucau definitely let himself go but there were one or two seasons about 10 years ago when he was better than anyone, Lomu and Habana included.

Sorry to correct you oimatey but actually was Bryan at his best with the Bulls. He left at the end of 2009 and in 2009 he was absolutely class in the CC final and Super Rugby final and actually the whole 2009. I think you are referring to 2010 / 2011 when he went through a slump at the Stormers.

pint taken about caucau but he got disinterested when he couldnt play for new zealand. but yeah i think he was the best for raw talent and he never had the break that habana did. islanders and players from countries outside of big tournaments with test teams dont get the same chance to reach the status like habana has.

bok-befok, did he really have a slump? the stormers have really been struggling in the backs for years and years and years. i dont think the players themselves are poor but something isnt right off the field i think.
