Thanks for the info.  It seems to me that he is going to play for Tou;omn as from August 2013 - that is after the Super Series.   That can be further delayed by his potential test obligations.   He may report to Toulon in fact only by October and will then have to be released forthe three EOYT's.

I think Toulon must have forked out an independent fortune to sign him up.   Wonder what it was? How long is the contract for?

Looks like they have bought him out of his contract at WP/Stormers.

I have to say I find Toulon very irratating.

I think it was Toulon CEO who last year stated that Bakkies Botha was not going to be released to play for the Springboks. He was quoted as saying" Why would we sign foreign players if they are going to play internationals for their counties, instead of playing club rugby for us?

A few days later he retracted the statement, as IRB laws state that clubs have to release players regardless of what contract they have.

Sharkbok there may be some doubt as per my post re Bekker in demand.

Why cant these misrable frogs keep their hands off our players! We need Hanana to win the Super 15 trophy.

It's all suspition and rumours at this stage Can. We all know that the guy from Toulon has done it in the past and onfirmed Habana's signing without it having happened. However that does not mean it didn't happen.

Maybe come August Habana moves.

He isn't getting any younger, and there are some young guys coming through. So I won't hold it against the guy if indeed it is true.

I always make a careful study of what is reported on the news items in Supersport, in News 24 and in timeslive and there is not a whisper about this signing on any of those sites.   We all know that during a lean time in rugby news - any such rumours will be pounced on by the rugby scribes that really have very little to report on.

I agree that Habana will be tempted to sign a finanically brilliant contract with overseas teams - but I think his present contract with WP (and conseqnetly the Stormers runs up to the end of 2013 - so it is likely that WP will demand a massive pay out to release him.

Probably a rumour started by Toulon for some dubious reason or another.

Toulon always starts this stuff, and they have done it with Habana in the past.

However, this does not make it unrue, They have the money to buy his contract out, and won't thin twice about it. So we will just have to sit back and let things run it's course. If it happens it does if it doesn't it doesn't.

All parties will adjust and find a positive from it in the end.
