The Cheetahs have always lost players to richer unions. Now suddenly they are hanging on to high profile players like Willie. If their cash prblems are solved they will move into the upper eschelons of super 15 rugby are a more permanent basis.

Cape Town - It was an easy decision for Cheetahs playmaker Willie le Roux to stay on at the franchise, his agent says.
It was announced on Monday that the Springbok fullback signed on for two more years at the Cheetahs. He will still represent Griquas in this year's Currie Cup before switching to Free State for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
Eduard Kelder from Prosport International told theVolksblad website his client's inclusion as Springbok fullback made the decision to stay easier, as well as his good relationship with Cheetahs coach Naka Drotské (An unsung hero).
French and Japanese clubs were hunting the services the fleet-footed back, and there were also offers from the Sharks and Western Province, but he eventually decided to sign a massive contract at Free State, reported to be about R2m.
"Naka and the Cheetahs management were very professional in the negotiations and made Willie a good offer.
"Willie is very happy at the Cheetahs and happy he can stay there," said Kelder.
Kelder also said the Cheetahs' style of play suits Le Roux.
"It was nice how Willie could express himself at the Cheetahs, but he showed at the Boks that he can also fit into other structures.
"There is belief in the Cheetahs team and we think they can do very well in future.
"That played a big part in Willie staying there. We are happy Willie can be a part of that."
