Yep he knows a good player when he sees one. Taute showed his class as a youngster playing for the Baby Boks over 2 seasons.
I like the fact that he always looks to be involved and looks to attack space. His stats in a poor Lions side spoke volumes for his ability and it was no surprise when Meyer rushed him into the Bok side after his injury.
He did not have a great time with the Stormers with little opportunity in a side playing poorly.
A fit Taute walks my Bok 23 everytime.

Think for a second. This poor bugger was the Lions coach, and was duty bound to pick a Lion. So who is he going to choose Elton Jantjies? Taute is slow, has no step, is not particularly hard to pull down and can't tackle.

Rubbish Moz he has no loyalty to the Lions they sacked him.
Also complete nonsense regarding Taute's speed, he is quicker than the likes of Jean and co and has always had a great step.......its his step that created that early positive impression. He is also one of the best defenders out there.
Great player who will walk straight back into the Bok set-up on his return and rightly so

Le Roux has played for Griquas as a full back and for the Cheetahs at wing - the latter team always had Danillier at full back. That makes it a 50-50 situation - not 90% as you claimed. However, I believe that whenever he played on the wing he became a more dangerous player and I think that would be where he mostly utilized in future.
Insofar as Taute is concerned - he always was an excellent full back when playing for the Lions. Something has gone wrong over the 16 months though. He was injured more than not and his performances at center indicates conclusively that he is not a center and should play at full back. Staitstically he always was a better full back than Kirchner. However - due to injury he was out of Super 15 for most of the matches this year and on the bench because they had to use Pietersen at full back - because of Jantjies flop at kicking at goal - so he only gad extremely limited playing time for the Stormers.
I would like to see how he shaped up in 2014 as a full back - that is where he will be playing in Super 15. I am more optimistic about his full back role than that of Francois Steyn - the latter has a mountain to climb to get back to fitness and recover lost speed. With the extremely limited playing time Taute had this year - the only people to condemn him outright would be the unthinking Mozart and his ilk - I still think the guy has a good future in rugby PLAYING AT FULL BACK

Hi JW I hate making these predictions, But if my back was to the wall I'd say the ABs will win this by 10 points. The Boks major opus on this tour likely came last week. But the second part of my prediction is the Boks will beat the ABs at home. Let's hope for a great game!
