Pieter was really good…he is reaching form again after his horrific injuries… but Mostert has proven without a doubt, all along, his worth….a man you want next to you when you go into war…so it’s about time you guys give him the Credit he Deserves!

Mostert was anonymous - as ineffective as usual. Should be nowhere near the match 23 Guys like Jean Kleyn etc should be on the bench ahead of him given we have to start Eben and RG Mostert is useless Seeing him in the flesh makes you realise how small he is - Esterhuizen is far bigger than him

Mostert stole 2 AB lineout throws…..was everywhere on the park and we rolled up the AB scrum from the loosehead side, where Mostert packed…..so much for lack of physicality.

Having said all that Snyman has to start….right now  we have the two best locks in the game in Etzebeth and Snyman.

As for Dud Toit he is once again the designated tackler at the rucks, so his process tackle count is high. But he missed 20% of his tackles. Yesterday he actually successfully took a few lineouts, which is helpful. But honestly the ABs were so pegged into their own 22, his vulnerability in space wasn’t exposed.

Mostert was as useless as ever PSDT was twice the player It was not even close Mostert always short changes the Boks He is the odd one out, you look at him in the flesh and think fuck sake the Bok pack is meant to be made up real men and then you get this thin scrawny pretender upsetting the equation Moz your blind faith in mediocrity is commendable

Du Toit has great pace for a guy of his size.

Etzebeth, Snyman and Kleyn are all better locks.

I don't like knocking Mostert. He plays for 80 minutes, is good in the lineouts, tackles etc. Only problem is a lack of physicality. It's not fatal five the power of the other tight five players.

Dave your inability to see the obvious is concerning…macular degeneration? I’d do another Mozcroscope but it wouldn’t help. Still the Boks were so dominant yesterday everybody looked good.

Dave even when you attend games your bias prevents you from acknowledging the performance of certain players.

Mostert once again gave it his all.

I would not play Mostert at lock - he is quite useless in that position is he is not physically up to tight five play.   He is too weak to make an impression in tight 5 play.   esterday he looked god in line-outs after the NZ lock was red-carded.

AJ he will never do what is required of a Bok lock or 7 as he is physically incapable of imposing himself It’s why he got the lowest rating of all the Boks on the day. He was anonymous unless stealing a line out now and again floats your boat He is shit and that will never change There are literally 15 better options than Mostert and I mean that sincerely

Nah Dave, he adds value...don't like him much either, as I also think he's a tad small, but he had a good game yesterday.

Disagree he adds no value - better players would add far more value like RG and Lood at 5 or JL du Preez at 7 I’m not saying he had a bad game, he just adds no value physically and a Bok lock or 7 should do just that He is shit he sells our engine room short

“ He is shit he sells our engine room short” - How far did you sit up in the stands? Because on television it was clear to see him and Eben in the engine room, and the Bok scrum Dominating the AB scrum….

Fucking wake up I’m talking about his individual contributions man on man not him being part of a scrum consisting of 8 players If we are dominating a scrum with Mostert as part of the 8 imagine how much more we would be if a real lock like RG was in that same scrum

Scott baret is 111 kg AB lock. is he also to small? Franco is 112 kg and his defence, man on man was Good on Friday and all the other games before…not all locks must look like Hibernating Bears to also be a valuable asset for their team.

No he is 118kg and a beast All Bok locks should be big - if you don’t think that you don’t know your rugby Name another light Bok lock other than the mighty impressive Matfield who at least had the savvy to build himself up to 115kg unlike the lazy Mostert Mostert is shit end of

I would choose Snyman over Mostert….but Mostert would be on the bench. And I would always choose Mostert over the low energy, weak defending poor lineout forward that is Lomp.

Lomp isn’t the best 5 in the Free State. The thing that won the WC was when Lomp was run over by Vunipola and Mostert came on to lead the goal line stand

Ah so Matfield does not know what he is talking about - I get it Lood is stronger, more physical and far more impactful than Mostert it’s the very reason he starts and why powder puff Mostert lives off the scraps of injured players Why Rassie bothers is beyond me Draad no chance in hell Mostert is more physical than Matfield and Vic was not physical

"Draad no chance in hell Mostert is more physical than Matfield and Vic was not physical"

There we differ...Matfield was 106kg's and 16 of that was his ego...good player but badly over hyped by the SA media...

Victor Matfield 03 Oct 2003 An athletic and skilful lock, Matfield's impressive speed and mobility is matched by his peerless ball winning in the lineout. After some dynamic performances for the Bulls in last year's Vodacom Super 12, including a chip and regather try against the Waratahs, he was called up to the Springbok squad and immediately cemented his place in the Test line-up. An SA under-21 player in both 1997 and 1998, 'Fai' left the Bulls for Griquas in 1999, where he was drafted into the Cats squad for that year's Super 12. He returned to the Bulls at the start of 2000 and was a popular choice as the Blue Bulls player of last season. He holds a B.Comm from the University of Pretoria, is a keen hunting enthusiast and sang in his school choir for three years. CM nice to see you back, trust all is well with you.

Regarding Mostert he is joining the Stormers next season so then you WP folks will be able to see his effort and witness his play in each game at first hand.

That is if he is able to dislodge those two present great WP locks you folks have.

Case closed.

Dave,

I agree with your lock selection to start ( Eben and RG) but we have to have Mostert in the mix even if it is on the bench.

Both he and Smith are outstanding players.

Kak AJ I’d have Kleyn, Jason Jenkins, Moerat, Ruben Schoeman, Ruben v Heerden, Ruan Vermaak, JD Schickerling, Walt Steenkamp or Andre Smith ahead of Mostert on the bench and I mean that - all real locks Mostert does trump Orie and Andrews though - I’ll give him that

Nothing changes from this game. It was a low effort All Black performance with nothing on the line. They've manhandled us physically in all the previous tests and shredded our paper defence. I saw nothing in Steph to change from what was known before. Saffers are too eager to puff up to see the cliff ahead.
