Ersmus does not necessarily rate Orie, After the Lions series and the test against the Pumas the coaches had to give Etzebeth a rest and their next choice Snyman cannot play yet. As Mostert fails at lock as well - under the circumstances they did not have a wide choice, at all - since Schickerling and other candidates are not in the squad.

So Dave you are saying he’s a quota selection and Pervie is saying it’s because Mostert failed ie Orie is a better choice than Mostertand all the other possible options.

You should know that I don't rate Orie as I have talked to you about Orie nearly a dozen times already. Several in the last three days! Hey Unteromlett, has dementia set in yet? And as I've asked already - you went very quiet, is Josè a rubbish evaluator of talent for selecting Orie, Frans, Morné, Mostert, Willemse? According to you Josè must be an idiot for not starting Dan and JL. Lets see how you squirm out of that one.

I’m not sure what Mike is trying to say - the fact Orie is in the squad quota or not speaks volumes for a piss poor selection
It’s a pity Moerat is injured as he is a real lock and a pretty handy one at that. I like his grunt and aggression. If it has to be a player of colour at lock then Moerat it is

They could have included the very impressive Tshituka in the squad. Playing at 7 for the Lions but looks suited to 8

The lock that got MOM in the CC Cheetahs vs Griquas caught my eye...saw bits and pieces of the match...black lock...didn't catch his name.

Is quota, but IMO Orie does more harm than good...much better players of color around...even at lock.
Like I said, I watched some Currie Cup tonight...players of color getting much more prominent in all positions...Quota should be a thing of the past soon...unless their aim is only 8% white players...to reflect the precise demographics of the country...fucked up if that's the endgame.

Numbers do not match reality. It's fluid in real life. Haven't seen a test quality non-white lock from SA before. I remain sceptical until I see it for myself.

I can't recall a selection you've gotten right or any analytical contribution that has been accurate. You are reckless, make hyper-emotional knee-jerk responses and close yourself off to the bigger picture and any useful information.
