Yes indeed the side that did the best over the course of the competition was the one topping the log. Plus saSUE we should have had more points as well but for bent down under refs. Please also note, in case you missed it, three of the top sides were ours.

We outscored the crusties in trys and despite two locks being injured early in the match we had the better of the game. However we were blown out of the match repeatedly for non existent off sides. I think they showed on TV one incident where we were offsides but did not show repalys of all the rest of the penalties to avoid embarrassment. Shocking stuff really - a compete integrated cover up. No doubt the TV ref is in line for some honour from nz rugby?

Topping the log means you are the best over the longest period. Unfortunately we suffered to many injuries to finish of the job and win the trophy. However as Keo and other have said - winning the log is the real deal. in knock outthe 6th placed team can win -silly really. Give the cup to the log toppers.
